Are you Ben Roethlisberger?

Awesome display of teamwork and prowess. Almost makes me wish that i cared about football. Also, the superbowl was yesterday?
spikestoyiu
Have you ever tried? Seriously, I couldn't have cared less about football until about six years ago when I told myself that since I was getting older, I should probably start watching football (it made sense at the time). So I took a couple of Sundays, sat down in front of the TV, and made myself watch a few games.

It also helps to have a team that consistently toys with your emotions, like the Philadelphia Eagles.

I have tried. bored my to tears. Then I watched the post game commentary and heard the players open their mouths and it was all over for me. Also, is it just me or does red #13 not even look like he's trying to perform a tackle manouvre on that running fellow?

spikestoyiu
In all fairness, I think most athletes should be seen and not heard.

The worst thing about football is that they stretch what is supposed to be an hour long game into a three hour long production that can't be called a game by most definitions. They stop playing every five seconds because some cranked up coke head has blown out a knee. And then comes fifteen minutes of fucking measuring like spotty, greasy-haired tubbos at a comic book shop trying to see if their orc wakkas can shoot the star navy guys or whatever.

Too boring to be believed. The fact that something this interesting and dramatic happens about once every 50 years should be evidence that all the excitement has been bled from the sport.

In general I don't really care about watching professional sports but, it's a lot more interesting when you're in a Pittsburgh bar filled with Steelers fans. The bar exploded for 10 minutes after this play. In general overexcited football fans are annoying as hell but on Superbowl night, while plenty drunk, it's pretty fun. Also being able to flood the streets after the game and high five everyone in town is sweet too.

Yesterday was the first football game I have ever sat down and actually watched in it's entirety. Apparently I made a good decision to do so because it was actually really exciting.

Foolish Motorcycle Accident
The problem with football is that it's way more exciting when you know a lot about football. A lot of people complained last year, for instance, that the first half of the Pats-Giants game was boring. But if you know defensive football theory, it was exciting as fuck.

football is fun if you know how to appreciate strategy

12 year old me was so pumped to get into Warhammer, but nothing swore me off more than actually meeting other Warhammer players.

Clearly, Harrison was down at the one yard line. This should not have been a touchdown.

However, this makes up for the non-call on Troy Brown's illegal forward lateral that cost the Steelers the 2001 AFC Championship game. So, congrats!
Foolish Motorcycle Accident
His knee was on Larry Fitzgerald. Crazy but true!

halon
The fuck game were you watching? His first point of contact with the ground once the tackle knocked him into the air was with his shoulders in the endzone. They looped this like twenty times in slow mo from several angles--how did you miss that?

Toenails
I spy, with my little eye....

A CARDINALS FAN!

Chizmurder
Hells yeah baby! 5 for the hand and now one for the DICK!
spikestoyiu
You do have two hands, you know.

Knuckles
This was an amazing play but Harrison conducted himself like a prissy little bitch for the rest of the game, and should have been kicked out after that stunt he pulled with Aaron Francisco. Completely uncalled for.
Ranma X.
Indeed. I hope he gets remembered for punching and kicking a guy while he's down as well his 92 yard return, but since the Steelers won, I doubt it.

Consuela the Cuban Whore
Right on, Ranma. There's a reason Harrison didn't get MVP. Holmes was nearly a non-factor until that last play, and Harrison's interception-to-touchdown was a record breaking moment. If he wasn't such a douche he'd be the MVP. Good call by the Steelers management to give it to Holmes.

Foolish Motorcycle Accident
Knuckles: You're two-starring this because Harrison is an asshole? Now who's being a little bitch?

Consuela: Holmes finished with 130+ yards, and had over 70 of the 78 yards on that final drive.

The real MVP was, as always, Jesus, who made it all possible.

Toenails
I was going to personally bitch out Knuckles for two-starring this. I thought it was because his team had lost, and I was going to call him some Hedgehog-humping bitch that couldn't back a winner if his life depended on it.

That was before I read their comment of why. I was also extremely disappointed in Harrison's inability to act like a good sportsman and behave like a professional. I couldn't believe it when I saw him manhandle that poor Cardinal who's only offense, as far as I could tell, was trying to stand back up. No matter how tough football makes itself seem, there is no reason to be a jackass on the field. God, it's not like these fuckwads are getting minimum-wage here, they could certainly afford to be polite when they are on the job.

So sorry about that below-the-belt reaction Knucks, but you still got to admit that it was an amazing touchdown.

Toenails
Oh wait, you already did admit it, sorry. DISREGARD THAT I SUCK COCKS!!!!

j lzrd / swift idiot
The guy should have been ejected from the game like a pilot from a burning jet fighter. What is this, hockey?
Foolish Motorcycle Accident
Not to defend Harrison's actions, because they are indefensible, but show me one example of a player getting kicked out of a game for what Harrison did.

RomancingTrain
Because they've never expected them to act like civilized human beings we shouldn't start now!

Foolish Motorcycle Accident
That's a fair point, RT. Would you say the same thing about a hockey game? Probably not, because even though fighting is technically illegal in hockey it only garners a penalty for the participants. Likewise, in football there is a certain amount of discretion invested in the refs to decide when a player has gone too far. What Harrison did was stupid and rude and deplorable and completely unnecessary and may very well gain him a hefty fine. However, a precedent has been set in the NFL that such behavior will not get players thrown out of games. It will get them a 15-yarder and an eviction from play if they continue acting in the same way, but I have never seen anyone get thrown out for what he did. So why should it start now? If you think real change should be made on this issue, it should be brought up at the owner's meeting or by the rules committee and then implemented by the refs NEXT season.

Toenails
That personal foul Harrison received was, as Foolish alludes to, a pretty justifiable punishment for what he did. These football players aren't the weaker of the species here. They also wear pads and helmets and other crap, so it's not like we are looking at any long-term injuries from some playground-style shoving.

chumbucket
such is the fan perspectives of all sports, we all remember what we want to remember
sliggy
I know Harrison beat the crap out of Francisco for no apparent reason later, but this was an excellent play. I'm rating this clip, not his performance as a whole. Minus one because wtf is that music for.
Mike Jordan
My favorite part of this play was when John Madden laid down the line, "James Harrison runs like James Brown". There are so many things that could mean.
