Normally I despise songs (mostly from soundtracks) that just re-tell a part of a film to an insipid melody (I'm thinking most recently of the vomit-inducing "Iris" by the "Goo-Goo Dolls"), but I can really get behind the artistic motivation for this one.
Maybe because I'm fantasizing about those other songwriters having this crooned to them as they stare up from the bottom of a pit.
And I don't want the world to see me,
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand.
When everything's made to be broken,
I just want you to know who I am.
