The New Twilight Zone wasn't too shabby. Harlan Ellison's adaptation of Stephen King's Lovecraft pastiche is great, as well as the Greg Bear story about truckers who drive souls to hell that's a giant slam on the Moral Majority.

The stories for this revival were very good, and done by some of the greats of Sci-Fi (even JMS).

The revival the WB made more recently was total crap.

The Forest Whitaker abomination. The problem with it was it condescended to its audience. It was so uncomplicated as to be offensive.

This though, had lots of great moments. My favorite was the woman who found some magical remote control that allowed her to freeze the world when she said "shut up". Also the totally awesome vampire old man episode where people turn into monsters around him unsuspectingly.

The original was a work of total genius. Rod himself wrote most of the scripts and he had a clear sense of irony that most writers will never be able to wrap their minds around because they are too busy slavering over what's trendy. I liked the omniscient narration too, he integrated himself into story backgrounds and that has never really been duplicated by anyone else that I know of.
