Kind of not buying the argument here. We don't watch movies and plays about nice people, we like stories about murderous kings, con men, and all other sorts of Richard III's. Of course the badguys live in opulent, dramatic houses, they're badguys. And the heroes aren't that heroic without impressive, well-heeled foes. We won't watch stories about nice lefties organizing utopia.

Nice look at some neat houses, tho.

Meh. Call me ignorant, but modern architecture has no soul. I laughed when it tumbled down the hill.

Part of me guesses it's because it's easier to film on houses isolated in the hills with spacious interiors than with cramped neighbors who complain about the noise and interiors too small to fit a studio shooting rig in there.
