Cinema commercials of this kind been around since at least the 80s, but aside from that the giveaway is they're too long for TV. Any advert that doesn't instantly grab a viewer is likely to lose its audience - these cinema ones have a long build up and a pretty good punchline. They're designed to take advantage of their captive audience and give an unexpected payoff that makes them memorable. They're not designed to be viewed over and over.
I was going to point out that the last one looks like a rippoff of a scene from some movie with John Ritter in it, but uh there were only two guys with glowing dongs in that movie. No horse.
Also I didn't want to admit to having seen that movie.
Much like the mediocre hit "Hangman Fever", Hamlet's 1996 ad was designed to cash in on a massive upswing in the popularity of hangman (and other similar paper and pad games).
But really, these are great. No one's shouting at me or trying to be hip. The song is classy and so is the typesetting. The only ones I don't like are the last two.
