Always love Sarah Vowell. I'm thankful This American Life introduced me to her.

Killer Joe - 2009-02-14

Well, that was charming as hell!

Wonko the Sane - 2009-02-14

Assassins really is a good musical

KnowFuture - 2009-02-14

They're all speaking Simlish (besides her), that makes me giggle.

Cleaner82 - 2009-02-14

I too enjoy being entertained!

I like this girl. I want to cheer her up by not being horrified at her.

fluffy - 2009-02-14

I had to love this even though I can't stand her voice.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2009-02-14

She once lamented that, especially to New York cabbies, her voice would always make everyone older than her call her "hon."

Lurchi - 2009-02-14

A voice made for the printed page.

Helena Handbasket - 2009-02-14

I'm sorry, I adore her voice.

tamago - 2009-02-15

I love her voice and I am not sorry one bit. Sarah is very charming.

Also, I'd give another five stars for the animator if I could. This is the first I had seen of her work and I already love it. Check out "Southern Exposure" in the related videos for another example of her work.

When I read her books, I imagine it narrated in her voice, because sometimes her sarcasm isn't obvious unless you imagine it said chirpily.

Only mildly amusing but pretty banal and shorn of any real wit or insight. Like most of This American Life.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2009-02-14

Not enough fart and dick jokes, eh?

minimalist - 2009-02-14

too much condescension and self-infatuation more like

pastorofmuppets - 2009-02-16

meeeeeeh
B&Bs are in fact a pretty lame place to go. I don't know if it's like this in other parts of the country but in New England it's more or less understood that each town is going to have a couple of hundred people selling garbage out of their house or letting people sleep in their beds.

Why the hell was she there in the first place? And if you're going to watch musical theater, Sondheim is your man, but still, musical theater?

Xenocide - 2009-02-18

Huzzah, Assasins is great and so is this lady.

Bonus fun: Turn this on, close your eyes and pretend you're listening to NPR. When the music kicks in, the illusion is complete.

joelkazoo - 2011-02-22

I like her. Not in a want to sleep with her way, but in a set her up with my shy friend way.
