This reminds me of one of the most harrowing flights of my life. The flight I was on chose to show "I Shouldn't Be Alive," a Discovery series on people who almost died doing this or that, complete with some engaging reenactments. The 3rd episode I watched involved a man flying an ultralight plane over remote African savannah. Part of the show entails the vivid explanation of various bad things that are happening, with CGI models and so on, and in this particular case the explorer's plane went into a tailspin, so turbulence was demonstrated.

Just at that moment, it was as if a giant hand hit the plane and everyone elevated high above their seat. The lady sitting next to me starting crying her eyes out and shouted "Please give me more pills!" The woman sitting next to her comforted her and held her.

I started praying to God, which is something you do even if you're an atheist and you think it's the end. The captain got on the comm and his voice was WARBLING, which is the first time I've ever heard a plane captain lose his composure. The worst flight ever. Everybody clapped when we landed.

I hate flying.
