seeing McGinley in a doctor's coat makes this so hard to take seriously

Five stars for that crazy face Laura Dern makes when she's upset.

Instead of "accidents" they started calling them "excursions", which makes it sound like they went on a nice picnic.

Slotin actually knew Daghlian, apparently, and spent time with him before he died. Slotin got 2-3,000 REMs, although some other poor bastard at Los Alamos got over 18,000 at one point.

This is a pretty decent film. It's not very technical, so it's not a very analytical examination of Project Manhattan, but I still thought it was underrated. Critics seemed really focused on how Newman didn't look anything like the real General Groves, and I never got why that was so massively important to the movie.
