Olbermann's complaint isn't that Fox is a big corporation, but that it's trying to sell these tea parties as something to benefit the common man while actually hurting them.

Fox started covering them they didn't start them. Even PEW research says that Fox news is more balanced than the others.

Thats coverage of the presidential election your article was talking about, and I have a feeling that the reason there re a "proportional" amount of negative stories with positive about with McCain was the GOP didn't much like McCain until he got Palin on board. the problem is that they never should have been called "taxes." they should be called "participation fees." if you want to be a full participant in our system, then you need to pay into the system that has allowed you to do all this cool stuff. this country has let you set up your corporation here, provides you with all kinds of great things to help your company grow (massive real-world and digital infrastructure and a legal system that will protect your intellectual property come to mind) and you aren't willing to put back in to support the system that made it possible? that's a dick move, and you should probably be ashamed of yourself.

I second Camonk's comment about France. Sales tax there is almost 50%! I have no idea what corporate tax law is like, but the average person is drowning in taxes.

Very crudely put, high sales taxes hurt the poor because a far greater percentage of their income is actually spent rather than tucked away.

You, no doubt, would agree that corporations create and push legislation that directly benefits their ability to make money at the cost of consumer freedom. For example credit card companies writing the legislation that governs credit practices.

France is not better than the US. All I was saying is that at least under Sarkozy the French are at least making steps in the right direction. France is still a socialist hellhole but at least they're realizing the need to be friendlier to business.
The tax money will serve the US better in the hands of private enterprise than it would in government. The government will just waste the money on useless projects and programs, whereas the corporation will use that money to expand creating more jobs and wealth.
