God what an idiot. I worked downtown that day and didn't even notice this going on.
ProfessorChaos
Please. Glen Beck doesn't have friends.
IrishWhiskey
"Now is the time we're pushed up against the wall, and we get up."

For eight years of deficits and constitutional abuses, they told everyone to shut up and play along. 12 weeks into an Obama Presidency, and suddenly they're so oppressed they have to secede. Its like a toddler holding his breath when its someone else's turn to hold the ball.

Frank Rizzo
yeah I'm really confused as to why some people are freaking out. Really...

Cena_mark
We had 8 years of deficits and constitutional abuses under Bush, I'll admit that. But deficits and constitutional offenses will be worse under Obama. He already got the ball rolling with his porkulous package. At least Bush was strong on security. Sarkozy said that Obama is weak. A Frenchman called our president weak!!!

GQ
Sarkozy also said the best world leader at the G20 was motherfucking SILVIO BERLUSCONI. That alone should kill any cred of what he said

futurebot
So this promo that Sarkozy cut on Obama, would you say it was MORE or LESS devastating than the one Steve Austin cut on Jake the Snake?

ProfessorChaos
The deficits will be worse under Obama - and they would have been worse under Mccain, as well. Both of them acknowledged the need to spend more in the time of economic crisis. Both backed the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act during their last days as senators.

As for "worse" constitutional abuses, so far Obama's track record is better then bush. Obama has ordered torture to stoped, and releaset secret memos detailing how detainees were treated. (Obama's support of Telcom Protection is part of the reason I have been lukewarm about him.)

I will acknowledge that some protest to keep things on a positive slide is a good idea. But that is not what these protests have been about. But, In all fairness, no-one can really say waht these protests were about - or at least, everyone you asked would give a different answer.

Cena_mark
Obama hasn't ordered torture stopped. He stopped productive interrogation techniques. Now we're not even able to put a terror suspect in a tiny box with a bug? What happened to the detainees wasn't torture.
Oh no, we could slap a detainee in the face and or belly as long as a medical professional is present! That is the gravest human rights offense ever, even worse than the holocaust.
This is dangerous to the American people. The terrorists have nothing to fear. They don't fear death and they don't fear the sissy interrogation techniques that remain.
And what does he do this for? So the world will like us more. Obama is a weak appeaser. Sarkozy is right. Bush may have been stupid, but he was never weak.

Witty_Pop_Culture_Reference
'A Frenchman called our president weak!!!'

If it wasn't for the French Army and Navies, America wouldn't even exist.

'That is the gravest human rights offense ever, even worse than the holocaust. '

Crimes against individuals are human rights abuses, crimes against a race or culture are genocides. There is no sliding scale of 'better or worse torture' or 'just a little bit of productive torture'. People who actually study psychology and are educated in the subject universally agree that torture is actually counter productive and notoriously unreliable in producing factual information. Torture is psychological terrorization of a culture, nothing more.

'The terrorists have nothing to fear. They don't fear death and they don't fear the sissy interrogation techniques that remain.'

I'm pretty sure a fanatic that is convinced he is going to heaven already has no fear of death when he is blowing himself up to kill the enemy. I'm also 100% sure that using torture works against the US in every way possible- from international condemnation to becoming the exact type of nation that islamic fascists portray it as, thus justifying in their minds that they really are fighting the oppressor and giving them more reason to hate.

We could keep going, but it is boring and I want to see more funny clips of right wing people Teabagging each other.

IrishWhiskey
I will gladly cede this and all future arguments with you, and donate ,000 to the Palin campaign fund, if you could stand one day of these "sissy interrogation techniques" without breaking down crying like a little girl.

"Tactics included using a plastic neck collar to slam detainees into walls, keeping the detainee's cell cold for long periods, and beating and kicking the detainee. Sleep-deprivation, prolonged shackling, and threats to a detainee's family were also used."

Is there no cognitive dissonance in whining about Obama's executive powers, while defending Bush administration memos that 'literally' state that the President is not bound by the Constitution or any other checks and balances whenever he so decides its in the national interest? And in saying they were "productive" can you point to even a single piece of evidence supporting that?

Cena_mark
Irish Whiskey: Japanese game show contestants go through worse shit than that. I'd totally be willing to go through that for ,000, cause its hardly torture. But don't notate it to Palin. I'll find a better cause.
I've been through greater hell than the gitmo prisoners in wrestling camp.

Its not unconstitutional, when these "tortures" are not committed against Americans. These have been used against P.O.W.s in the War on Terror.

Cleaner82
Come on Cena, talk is cheap. I want to see a new Mark of a Nation where somebody waterboards you. After a week without sleep, and no cheating.

Frank Rizzo
I love it when people spew random sound bits from fox news.

Cleaner82
Or for the sake of consistency I guess we *could* can the waterboarding.

But you'd need somebody to keep you up, they would have to sort of hover around you, shocking you with a cattleprod whenever you dozed off. After a few days your mind would start to deteriorate even further than it already is. It would make a kickass video, and you'd get a grand out of it, and you'd probably never recover. Win/win/win.

By the way, you know who else uses sleep deprivation and beatings? Everybody. They are the meat and potatoes of torture. You might want to have told the KGB how ineffective they are.

James Woods
Oh God, how I'd love to watch Cena beg and cry after 30 seconds of water boarding. The black and white makeup dripping off his big dumb mug.

What if we raised 1,000 dollars, Cena? Would you allow a little meet and great with some of your poe chums so we can film it? It would probably be the best video on the site, and if you don't ask for it to stop after ten minutes you'll get the money we raise. Such an epic thought.

Cena_mark
I've gone long periods without sleep. Its called finishing term papers. Its called working 2 jobs. Its called epic road trips. I've been up so long I've started seeing things.
As far as waterboarding is concerned, I hope it sucks. I hope it sucks for the damn terrorists we do it to. But I'm perfectly willing to go through with it because I am a badass.

Rodents of Unusual Size
5 stars for the clip and for Cena_Mark siding with the French.

Dude, you're totally siding with the French. Shall I buy you a beret so you can sneer at us? Why don't you go eat a baguette, Frenchie lover.

Cena_mark
I hate the French. But Sarkozy is way better than Chirac. And I applaud the French for stepping it up by electing him. Hopefully the French will also take their country back from the oppressive Muslim minority which they have allowed to boss them around for so long. After that I might come to love the French.

rad3xl
er... did I see a Mexican flag in there? hah hah hah! wtf?

Dibbs on Austin and that dinosaur park where they shot Peewee's Big Adventure.
simon666
Isn't that dinosaur park outside of Palm Springs in California?

Tstyle
I had a front row seat for the tea bagger parade two blocks from the Capitol building in Austin. Ive had family reunions that where better attended.

Also, these buffoons cheer secession then not 10 seconds later are chanting USA!

goddammit baleen the line is

DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS!

Cleaner82
At least somebody is finally putting their money where their mouth is with the 'love it or leave it' line.
Dinanukht
Texans love America so much they're going to secede from the Union.
Now that's patriotism.
sosage
Like all things conservative, they're all talk...let someone else do the hardwork/handle the consequences. It's their version of running off to Canada, except without having to lift a finger to actually relocate somewhere.

...plus Texas has threatened to do this for years. I wish they would, just so I can imagine a scenario where they are conquered by Mexico and forced to refugee North/West/East while their territory is carved up in cartel wars.

Witty_Pop_Culture_Reference
Texas has the more of the top 10 obese cities in the US than anywhere else- something like 4 cities with the others coming from the rest of the US combined. I seriously doubt there will be any trouble coming from Texas outside of them threatening to eat other people's children until they realize that 'pork' being given out in funding isn't actual pork but a metaphor.

After which they will not care about the issue anymore.

Paracelsus
Yep, Glenn, I bet you'll be right there in the front lines, porky. Don't any of these assholes, who presumably are proud of their history, know what Sam Houston said about secession long ago? I honestly cannot believe that this topic is actually coming up.

Camonk
Goddammit. I leave for five fucking minutes, and you idiots let this happen? Texas was bad enough, but I mean come on, cheering for Glenn Beck? This is the reason I have to kind of lower my eyes and mumble whenever family members ask if I'm coming back.
Hooker
I love the "oh, whut?" look that comes over his face when he realizes that secession is a large part of what this crowd is about.

SHIT OR GET OFF THE POT PIGFUCKERS/
Hooper_X
Can I just reiterate how much I love that Glenn Beck picked the site of one of the biggest fucking failures ever to launch his little revolution.
James Woods
Seriously. The Alamo was a total cluster-fuck. It's infuriating how many stupid people there are.

Stopheles
Hey, guys! Let's protest the election of a black President at the site of a massacre of Texans who were trying to secede from Mexico because Mexico was about to prohibit slavery!!!

j lzrd / swift idiot
That was the best part. It set the overarching theme of the whole party: grand failure.

Rodents of Unusual Size
It totally sounds like he says "We're sluts" at the end.
Caminante Nocturno
Pandering to the worst and the dullets.

Maybe I'm wrong on this, but isn't the Alamo maintained with tax money?
