The Karroo fossil formation contains an estimated 800 billion or more tetrapod fossils of sizes ranging from a shrew to a large cow. If all of these animals were fossilized during (and alive immediately prior to) the flood, there would be about six of them for every acre on the surface of the Earth (wet or dry).

If we assume (generously for the Creationists) that these fossils represented even 1% of all tetrapods alive at the time of the proposed flood, there would be more than 600 medium-to-large terrestrial vertebrates on every acre of Earth, wet or dry; or on average about 1.5 good-sized rabbits for every 10'x10' patch of open ocean.

If we use a slightly more reasonable percentage (like 0.01%), the entire surface of the Earth would be at least ankle-deep in rodents.

I'd never encountered the "dumb animals wouldn't try to swim" argument before. Delightful.
