I don't think I've ever seen a movie declare itself camp before. It's usually not stated so boldly.

I don't think the producers were aware of its original definition, but Sontag popularized the term in the 60's and it became a hot word amongst the hipster elite of that time, and was probably intended to be synonymous with crazy or hip.
