I was always a fan of nature shows and books as a kid. I read a lot about the ocean. I caught crabs, hermit crabs, and horseshoe crabs at the beach. NO ONE TOLD ME ABOUT ISOPODS.
No one told me either, so I looked them up. Tell me... is your tongue... you know... really yours? Ultimate horror, thy name is Cymothoa exigua.
they're just like the garthim from the dark crystal -1 because i got excited thinking it was actually going to be something from jan svankmeyer
I caught crabs on the beach, and I HATE nature.
What's that about tongues? Time to hit up Wikipedia on isopods. ...oh. ...OH. OH SWEET JESUS.
He compares them to wood lice, aka potato bugs and rolly pollies, and they are. Except they're the size of a cat.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cymothoa_exigua AHHHH!!!! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It says it doesn't hurt the fish...
i have isopods in my aquarium the tropical reef kind that are 1/2cm fully grown
Pussy.
0:45-1:12 is the best chris cunningham video never made
Needs yakkety sax.
so creepy.
Just another Memorial Day weekend family get-together around the backyard grill.
As nightmare inducing as it is, eel and crab are my favorite seafoods. I'm now wondering what isopod tastes like.
Like the nightmares of children.
That's a really brilliant description there, Misk.
I guess you could say... *takes off sunglasses* ...they really got their claws into him. YEEEEAAAAAHHHHHH!
Five starfishes for you! Well, four. I need to give at least one to the isopods, since they are so damn awesome. Seriously, where's the 50s horror film with a giant one attacking major metropolitan areas?
I believe that is what scientists refer to as a "clusterfuck"
H.P. Lovecraft had good cause to fear the ocean.
FUUUUUUUUUUCK
These stars are for the description.
