I absolutely love the soundtrack to this. Nilsson's drunkenness was legendary by this point. He was apparently only capable of writing tunes comprised mostly of 2 or 3 words repeated over and over yet it still manages to have such life to it.

This is one of the best film adaptations of a cheesy cartoon ever. I never liked the Popeye cartoons, but I loved this movie.

I'm pretty surprised at how many of the lyrics to this song I know by heart.

The best Popeye is the original Segar cartoon. This tries to be in the same spirit, but it still irritates the hell out of me. It looks like it was directed by someone who really didn't want to do it.

I tried to explain this movie to several people, and none of them believed me.

This is definitely one of those movies that you can't explain properly to somebody who hasn't seen it.

Most enjoyable film of my childhood. I loved me some fucking sing-alongs.

Not only does everyone talk at the same time in this movie, but you cannot tell where anything is in relation to each other. I don't know if I love or hate it, but it is absolutely unique.

I'm really not sure how beating up a building is "mean" per se, but sure... let's just go with it.

I liked this movie better when it was Punch Drunk Love.
