It sounds like she's speaking quietly so as to not wake her parents.

My dream house would have hemorrhoid cushions everywhere too.

mouser - 2009-09-07

Mine would be a taxidermy shop.

WOLF HOUSE!

yeahjim - 2009-09-07

I remember trying Furcadia out a long time ago. I was excited about making a lizard warrior or something, but then I found out that there was nothing to kill.

Camonk - 2009-09-07

That's... not something I'd admit, if I were you.

garcet71283 - 2009-09-07

In a more innocent time, I had downloaded it on one of my wild free-mmorpg kicks, not knowing what it was. My account never worked, and I moved on to something else.

Ah the innocence of youth...

KnowFuture - 2009-09-07

Oh yeah, when I wanted to try a MMORPG and couldn't afford the money-cost variety, I tried this for about three days. Then I realized it was all about a bunch of animal people pretend-fucking each other and they wanted me to join them.

Syd Midnight - 2009-09-08

Everything I know about Furcadia I read about on Encyclopedia Dramatica.

MrBuddy - 2009-09-08

Looks like I wasn't the only one who thought, "Hey, this is free, now I can finally find out what MMORPGs are all about." When I learned all I could do was walk around, sit and move pillows around I kind of lost interest.

This video could really use subtitles and shouldn't someone say "copy" instead of "steal"?

memedumpster - 2009-09-07

SPOILERS!

Mumble mumble *wolf walks around* mumble mumble *wolf walks around* mumble mumble *wolf walks around* mumble mumble.

It took me nearly the whole video (with the aid of the other comments, description, and tags) to figure out what the hell is going on here. Apparently, and I could be wrong, "stealing" the dream house meant "someone made a house with the same toolset with the same six options that, because of having just six options, looked like the so-called dream house."

StanleyPain - 2009-09-07

I used Furcadia for a brief period around 1995 or 96 when it first had come out as I was curious what it was since ex Ultima developers were behind it. It's basically just a graphical chat, sort of like a semi-primitive Second Life or something. It had a kind of dumb charm to it at first but then the furries soon started to overtake it which, I later found out, was basically the goal of the developers who were huge furries. The pervert contingent got to be such a huge problem that eventually they had to make an entirely separate "world" solely for the furries to hang out and pretend to fuck in because I guess you have to keep the serious "furry roleplay" people and the "furry sex" people in separate cages to avoid drama.
Anyway, the software came with the ability to create your own little worlds and then upload them into the main game so that anyone could come in and visit unless you specifically limited access. In order to enter someone else's custom level the level would have to download onto your computer first (logical, right?), so basically ANYONE can have access to your maps simply by fucking walking into the level, so all this shit about dream stealing is fucking hilarious.

memedumpster - 2009-09-07

It sounds like, by your description, that people would take a lot of pride in their custom chat environments, seeking to draw the most people to their area, like opening a bar or restaurant. I imagine the standard human competition mode would kick in with that kind of environment, even down to keeping pervs out of your place to establish the right kind of clientele.

Udderdude - 2009-09-07

"even down to keeping pervs out of your place to establish the right kind of clientele."

Uh, you do remember we're talking about furries here, right?

StanleyPain - 2009-09-07

Dream competition was pretty big time. The thing is there where places where people could create portals to their custom worlds, so everyone wanted the prime spots for the portals so basically people for a time actually were creating bots that sat in this world literally just to create portals every time the portal faded (which I think was every 30 minutes or something like that). Most of the hardcore dream maker people were either into the dumb DARK VAMPYOR furry roleplay or just into yiffing bullshit, but occasionally some cool people did some great things.

Camonk - 2009-09-07

I never knew you could play Ultima IV as a wolf.

I'll be honest. I'm just guessing. I know shit about Ultima. But one of them looked like that.

Caminante Nocturno - 2009-09-07

I was laughing at this girl until she pointed out the theft of the pool room. I didn't realize how seriously painful this was until I learned about that. Jesus, I don't know what I would do if someone had stolen my pool room.

MongoMcMichael - 2009-09-07

I thought MMORPGs had more than one person in them. Those places are pretty darned empty.

Udderdude - 2009-09-07

Comments time.

"Because this sort of thing is VERY SERIOUS, but when handled properly, by adults, it can be resolved without going to court."

She sounds like a female Ulillillia.
