Their next episode covers why you can't actually buy the Brooklyn Bridge.

Some doofus tried to pull this on me in a Burger King drive-through.

simon666 - 2009-09-17

Sounds like this doofus knows his target audience having tried this at Burger King.

teethsalad - 2009-09-17

a guy tried this on me once and i asked him if i looked like i just fell off a boat

then he drove away

They need to do double blind testing - there's a good chance the experts would think these crappy speakers sound just fine if they didn't know what they were.

This is true too.

Sibilant treble and booming bass are pretty specific terms...and you know what, just forget it.

This is one of my favorite scams ever. I've been approached twice and love to mess with them.

Wow, this really happens?

Zoom in on googly eyes is fucking fantastic!

dementomstie - 2009-09-17

I'm more surprised that this hasn't been shut down as being illegal than the fact that people fall for it.

Goofy Gorilla - 2009-09-17

I'm thinking the opposite. I mean, laying down 500 quid for a very amateurishly packaged speakers off the back of white van? We're not talking 5 for some bad smack. I think the pricier the scam the less likely it is to be illegal, especially for audio equipment.

Would you care for some Pear Anjou speaker cables to go with that? Great deal today only at 00 per pair.

GravidWithHate - 2009-09-18

Turns out you should never buy speakers from Tyranids.
