Rodents of Unusual Size - 2009-10-08

I would love to see the people who voted against this explaining this away to their women voters.

They and their voters think the same: if a woman is raped, it was her fault. Plain and simple

The McK - 2009-10-08

They're not just mosters, they're the mostest!

Chalkdust - 2009-10-09

Baraperapeasso!

Xenocide - 2009-10-09

RapeRapeRape (R-Rape)

Too lazy to copy-paste this 29 times.

MongoMcMichael - 2009-10-09

Republican Senator: "I think Senator Franken fails to understand that this so-called 'person' has a VAGINA."

zatojones - 2009-10-09

Aside from Senator Gregg from New Hampshire I'm seeing a certain similarity in the types of states those guys are from.

jangbones - 2009-10-08

If you have never heard her tell her story, its chilling. And if you think arbitration doesn't sound so bad, corporations are gaming the system in mind-bending ways.

Less than two weeks after hearing her story, I had to sign away my right to sue my employer.

kelpfoot - 2009-10-11

Not a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure arbitration clauses can't affect your ability to raise complaints with OSHA or any other regulatory agency, and it's not like those agencies would be bound by a contract you signed with your employer.

heyitslozeau - 2009-10-08

Honestly, what possible reasoning could one have for voting this down? Man. So it didnt pass?

Albuquerque Halsey - 2009-10-08

it passed, http://senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_c fm.cfm?congress=111&session=1&vote=00308

Frank Rizzo - 2009-10-08

theres probably a reason why they voted against it and not just that they're mosters.

CharlesSmith - 2009-10-08

Well, we're all ears.

dieudonne - 2009-10-08

Is it that they are greedy for corporate money as well as being monsters?

baleen - 2009-10-08

Of course. Government should not intervene in free rape.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2009-10-09

The invisible hand of the market likes "the Shocker," didn't you know?

Tameriaen - 2009-10-14

It was an amendment 2588 to H.R. 3326. You can see it here
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/vote.xpd?vote=s2009-308

Also, for the record, if we're listing the 30 republicans that rejected it, it's worth mentioning the 8 republicans that supported it:

Murkowski, Lisa [Alaska]; LeMieux, George [Florida]; Lugar, Richard [Indiana], Grassley, Charles [Iowa]; Snowe, Olympia [Maine]; Voinovich, George [Ohio]; Hutchison, Kay [Texas]; Bennett, Robert [Utah].

Dinkin Flicka - 2009-10-09

Wait, Mox News? Like Dawson's character in Varsity Blues?

Pillager - 2009-10-09

Just when you think the repubs couldn't sink any lower...

I dread the day they top this instance.

frau_eva - 2009-10-09

Aaaand this is why arbitration is evil and unconstitutional.

Dib - 2009-10-10

How about a bill banning those stupid fucking arbitration clauses in all capacities of all contracts? As if they these things couldn't get more one sided in favor of a company, now even cell phone providers realize they can shield themselves from lawsuit if they include these in their agreements.

apiaryist - 2009-10-10

Cornyn is the fucking devil. I live in Austin. A little while back, the Repubs gerrymandered and split the most liberal city in Texas into pieces. I moved 10 blocks and now he's my goddamned Senator. He's robo-called my house every day at 7PM for the last 2 weeks. Each time it's about some other heinous thing he's voting for.

Nominal - 2018-12-01

How do you gerrymander a senate election?

Broose182 - 2009-10-11

Fuck cornyn.

Nominal - 2018-12-01

Good thing Dems kicked Franken out over a bad taste pose in a picture from a decade before he became a senator. What an anti-woman monster.
