Anyone know whether or not feeder mice are usually fed to predators alive or dead? I can't work up too much righteous indignation at this...they're animals that eat other animals. They need to eat; that's how it works.

Usually, someone at the pet store will either bang them against a hard surface, or detach their spine to kill them instantly. Most respectable pet stores won't sell live feeders.
