I miss Saturday Anime on the Sci-fi Channel.

Ugh. The Reversal Syndrome. Whatever.

Even when I was a little kid and devoured all anime uncritically as being absolute 100% genius, I remember watching Lily C.A.T. and thinking "wow, this is really really really like Alien." I want to thank Lily C.A.T. for showing me early on that anime could be really derivative and terrible.

All of these stars are for Spaceraham Lincoln.

Not of the dialogue made any sense whatsoever except "kill ourselves."

Still looks better than Armageddon (the anime... okay, and the live action movie).

This also lifted a lot from Carpenter's The Thing.

That being said, it wasn't terrible.

They ripped off Alien, sure, but I guess the concept of a strong female character like Ripley was so foreign they had no idea what to do with it

I swear to god I was expecting the girl to start crying about how one time she went to the movie theater and she had this bag of fake vomit and she took it and she leaned over the balcony and she went HURRG HURRG HUAAAARG and threw it over but then everybody else started throwing up and it was so terrible and she's really really sorry and A BLOO BLOO BLOO
