"no one would care about the solstice is it weren't for christianity *duh face*"

can't watch no more.

Keefu - 2009-12-24

This is basically unwatchable. Hyper-smarmy host vs mousy, unsettling Atheist woman.

I'm bailing out on both sides for this one.

Xenocide - 2009-12-24

Agreed, they are both horrible people, but I actually have to give this one to Ingrham, because she at least doesn't sound like a cartoon fairy with down's syndrome.

pastorofmuppets - 2009-12-24

Gotta love the ego on these people. Ask yourself why Fox News is having you on. Is it because of your charming wit? Or is it because you look, sound, and possibly smell bad?

dead_cat - 2009-12-24

I think part of the atheist rep's problem was lag.

themilkshark - 2009-12-24

I grew up catholic. It's child abuse to raise your children catholic, lady.

Xenocide - 2009-12-24

The fact that she felt the need to read those signs out loud shows what sort of mental giants make up the Fox New audience.

Not that the atheists are any better. Those billboards reek of desperation for attention. It's like forum trolling leaked out into the real world.

CharlesSmith - 2009-12-24

I don't mean to come down on you like this, but that's a very ignorant way of looking at this. Being an Atheist is not fun. Living with the knowledge that 99% of the people you meet base major decisions on fairy tales is frightening, especially when you're young. Letting rational people know that they're not completely alone is not a cry for attention. If that's trolling, then public Christmas trees are fucking terrorism.

CharlesSmith - 2009-12-24

I'm sorry, that was more inflammatory than I intended. I just get very frustrated by people who think that any public display of atheism is "just looking for attention", yet religious people can come to your fucking door trying to convert you and no one says shit. Do you think the billboards telling people they're going to hell are just looking for attention?

pastorofmuppets - 2009-12-25

Nope. I think they're looking for money.

Which I think is a good counter to the "atheism is a religion" thing. Religions disappear without money. Atheism doesn't disappear until someone tells you you don't have to actually deal with how harsh life is.

IrishWhiskey - 2011-05-27

I've never understood why "I don't believe in a Christian God, I believe in spirits/crystals/Joseph Smith/Krishna/Thor" is respected and protected (even when it's shoved in people's faces and accompanied by threats of eternal torture) whereas saying "I don't believe in a Christian God or any others" is considered to be as socially acceptable as masturbating at the playground.

pastorofmuppets - 2009-12-24

If asked to do so, I would not be against taking up arms in the culture war.

pastorofmuppets - 2009-12-24

"Reason is always in season." I like it. She actually didn't do that bad a job. Fuck Ingraham for saying that atheists don't do charity. I *only* donate to secular charities (all the big ones are anyway) because I'll be damned if my money's going to go to indoctrinate the weak rather than the stuff I meant it to go to.

facek - 2009-12-24

Ingram forgot to mention that the Catholic Church likes to use their federally subsidized charity as a political bargaining chip.

memedumpster - 2009-12-24

I want to make a billboard that says "Fuck God, I Got Guns!"

phalsebob - 2009-12-24

What offends me here is the low quality of trolling. She has no patience, and stumbles over herself trying to elicit a reaction in the worst ham fisted school yard kind of way. I was expecting Ingram to start chanting "Annie Annie smells like a fannie".

Oh Fox, I expect better evil from you.

pastorofmuppets - 2009-12-25

That's exactly what makes her more evil for me. You can just imagine the folks at home saying "yeah, that's what I wanna know too" at the TV after every "question."

Glenn or Glennda - 2009-12-24

5 stars for the hilarious description, as am not willing to actually watch it.

Billie_Joe_Buttfuck - 2009-12-24

you'll be burning in hell right beside her, idolater!

everyone burns during the reckoning!

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2009-12-25

The atheist woman looks a bit drugged up.

Laura looks like she's going to rip her head off, and feast on the insides, like a praying mantis.

dead_cat - 2009-12-25

These 5 are for ME, for making myself watch the whole damn thing. UGH.

Though I am curious as to what the hell a "devout atheist" is. That sounds a lot like like saying someone is a "devout non-lumberjack."

MaulLove - 2009-12-27

I kept that title because I felt the same way, and it made me laugh.

IrishWhiskey - 2011-05-27

de·vout/diˈvout/Adjective
1. Having or showing deep religious feeling or commitment.
2. Totally committed to a cause or belief.

1 obviously doesn't apply, and 2 would, except that atheists say they'd freely change their minds if shown any evidence.
