Probably written by a pissed off movie buff plot hole nazi who hates willful suspension of disbelief, but it still doesn't ruin the movie for me.

I remember hearing the director in an interview describe why he portrayed the Joker as he did with little backstory or explanation. He said the Joker was supposed to move through the story like the Shark in Jaws, wreaking chaos wherever he goes.

Did you care that the Shark was unbelievably huge and managed to pull off half the crap it did? Fuck no! Awesome villain! Likewise I don't care that the plot of Dark Knight was full of holes. Still ok to poke fun at though.
