To think, all of these facilities were activated just for this filming. They were quickly shut down afterward.
North Korea is best Korea. There's no executions, no rampant suicides, no drought, no starvation, cars everywhere, no prison labor camps, no electricity cut offs at night. Let's go!
Holy shit, I'm so drunk, it sounds like they are actually speaking English!

North Korea is like if an entire country ate too many lead paint chips.

I looked at their tourism site, they practically admit that you have to follow a closely guarded itinerary because the DPRK you see will be about as realistic as Disneyland. Don't forget to bring a wife...

If I go can i stay in the 'Legion of Doom' style hotel Dear Leader built?
I like to play a game where I use the satellite function on Google Maps to find cities of decent size with LESS car traffic than Pyongyang. So far, Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia has more traffic, Mogadishu in Somalia has more traffic, Khartoum in Sudan has more traffic, even Jamestown on St. Helena in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean has more traffic!
I've yet to find "urban" places with less traffic than Pyongyang.
Come to beautiful North Korea and check out our kids!
Tips for Pyongyang Tour
-- The DPRK prohibits American citizens from visiting Pyongyang in protest against the U.S.imposed TWEA (Trade with Enemy Acts) sanction.
-- There is no need of worrying about your having visited south Korea in the past.
-- You should order the DPRK visa three weeks before so that your travel agencies at home can properly arrange your trip schedule.
-- When flying over to the DPRK via China, you have only two flights a week between Beijing and Pyongyang on Tuesdays and Saturdays. You should arrange the flight to Beijing and hotels there by yourself. The costs vary depending on your routes and schedules.
-- You can also enter the DPRK using the international trains from Beijing, which will take some 23 hours to reach Pyongyang.
North Korea is the scary old man who talks to himself, wears reeking green pants, lives in a trailer behind the gas station and who has lots of guns.
I hope I live long enough to see the logical dissolution of the Workers Paradise, because that will be incredible.
In the 1960s and even 1970s, North Korea was far more advanced than South Korea, which was under the rule of a military dictatorship. It seemed inevitable that eventually the superior North would reassimilate the backwards South.
