Americans really hate it when you talk out worse disasters in other countries that Americans generally don't care about (e.g. every other country that's not the U.S.) But they do love the ability to use those disasters to feed into their victim complex, such as when they called the floods that followed Katrina "our tsunami."

Charles - 2010-05-11 They're not talking about Hurricane Katrina, as those floods did not kill anywhere near 280,000 people. They must be referring to the Tsunami that hit Thailand and Indonesia at the end of 2004.

spikestoyiu - 2010-05-11 No, I realize that. I guess I didn't make myself all that clear (or you misunderstood me.) I'm well aware of the REAL tsunami as I was in Thailand the next year and saw much of the devestation. I'm saying that Americans cannot stand to hear about bigger and badder disasters in other areas of the world, and I used the mantra "Katrina was OUR tsunami!" as an example of that. And obviously that's an offensive comparison for reasons already given (by you.)

The video was never produced or approved by WWF and was based on a print ad that was made by a Brazil ad company which was also not approved by WWF. Needless to say WWF is just a little pissed that someone made this.
