NO. THIS NEVER HAPPENED... I REFUSE...
Although supertrain loveboat seems like an inevitable idea after the third or fourth rail of cocaine. Oh wow.

Holy shit! I thought I hallucinated this when I was a kid!

This also spawned a Dick Tracy storyline where Vitamin Enrichard builds a fusion-powered supertrain that runs on thimblefulls of heavy water (I read Dick Track when I was little)

This is pretty much "The Love Train." Wacky black guy serving drinks? Check. Doctor? Check. Goofy purser? Mmm-hmm...

Does the monorail ever reach Earth?

Supertrain began venting superheated radioactive steam as it departed the platform, killing 4, scalding dozens, and exposing an as yet unknown number of persons to high doses of radiation.

Who would win in a race, Supertrain or the Soultrain?
The mantrain always wins, even if it comes in last.

It finally clicked that Superjail! is a direct parody of this monstrosity.
It nearly bankrupted NBC, they were STILL paying it off by the time Seinfeld came around.

At the time, the folks at NBC were desparate for a new hit, since their only show in the Top 20 of tv ratings was Little House on the Prairie. Apparently this show was first conceived of as simply being similar to The Love Boat, only on a coast-to-coast passenger train. Then it gradually blew up into...this.

So which came first, this or The Big Bus?
