Considering my cable company (that's Insight, by the way) makes Sarah Palin look like an honest, hard working, altruist anarchist, I am disinclined to believe this commercial.

I had taken the EFF's stance that giving the FCC broad regulatory power over the internet is a bad idea. But the Verizon-Google deal is disgusting, as is watching the telcos salivate over the opportunity to charge extra for not crippling what they already give you.

What happened to forcing them to lease their pipes? Why do we give them regional monopolies without preventing these abuses?

If you watch closely, this ad makes a really subtle attack on Google.

As soon as I watched this I went ahead and canceled my subscription with Silicon Valley.

I was gunna ask how the fat-cat Silicon Valley cylon greed-monsters were going to make me pay more, but once I saw "BAD" in big red font with animated red line under it, I was sold.
