Wait: The sidekick from Walker, Texas Ranger says they can't stop the Tribulation, but then tells them they have to convert some Jewish guy so he won't sign a treaty with the antichrist and thereby start the Tribulation. And this is one of the bestselling series of all time.

The whole time characters give contradicting accounts of what needs to be done, and in how they act. They say the events need to happen for Jesus to win and souls to be saved, but also say they have to stop it for Jesus. They say there's nothing they can do to change events, but engage in half-hearted efforts to prevent scripture. They say their main goal is to save as many Christians as possible, but are so worried about secrecy they don't even preach to family and friends. You'd think the Christian thing to do would be to risk their lives to save others, but instead spend the books judging others and feeling self-important while accomplishing nothing.
In short, it reflects the conflicting motivations behind the rapture movement a mix of shadenfraude at the suffering of unbelievers, eager anticipation for Jesus' return, and terror/delight at the UN, atheists and Satan taking over and vindicating their nightmares

The 2nd and 3rd movie are on Netflix on demand right now (but oddly not the 1st one). I skimmed through both of them and HOLY SHIT!
- One of them opens with the president and vice president shooting clay pigeons, practically sneering how everyone is falling for WORLD PEACE, nearly outright calling it a commie plot. You know they are the good guys because they love GUNS.
- The worst part about the nightmare dystopia is the fact that religion is outlawed, yet the "heroes" are constantly chastising people for following the "wrong" religions.
- Kirk Cameron crushes an athiest strawman with LOGIC. The heathen claims that Christians just want to make everyone out to be bad. Kirk claims:
"Someone who murders is a murderer. Have you ever lied?"
"Sure"
"Then wouldn't you be a liar? Have you ever stolen?"
"Some small stuff I guess."
"Then you're a thief. So BY YOUR OWN ADMISSION you're a thief and a liar. You still sure people don't need saving?"

Kieran27 - 2010-10-12 Ah, I remember those questions. Cameron and his partner in crime Ray Comfort ambush people on the streets with them and always ask the "Think you need saving?" question.
One interview I saw had them ask a guy "Have you ever stolen anything?" and he answered "No, I have not." The rest of the clip was Comfort trying to convince this guy yes, he had in fact stolen because EVERYONE steals. But the guy refused, insisting he had lied sure, but never stolen something. It was fun to watch Ray and Kirk having a fit because this just flew in the face of their belief everyone was guilty of everything they ask, and they were not able to accept it.

Get these Bibles out of here!" So his friend blows through the door in a truck carrying the last bunch of Bibles in America to safety.
