Pontchartrain Beach. I rode almost every ride in the 70's. If you attempt to go to this lake today you would be arrested.

The beach has been, for some time considered toxic.

Lake Pontchartrain is situated between the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico; hence it's a cesspool. All toxins dumped into the Mississippi, from Canada down - land in this lake. The river pushes the toxic waste down, and the ocean pushes back.

Fuck it; the childhood memories were awesome!

Movie logic tells me that at least one serial killer has his secret industrial music laden hideout located here.

Gorgeous and sad. Man instead of tearing it down they could've used it for that Silent Hill sequal that'll happen eventually...or never.
