I live right near Grapevine Texas, where gamestop's HQ is located. I'd do part time stuff at the warehouse time to time during my apprenticeships, since intern pay wasn't enough.

I thought I'd stuck gold when they asked if I wanted to work openings in their new model store opening in "Southlake Texas." I was so wrong. Southlake is this obnoxious rich town where all the housewives are too busy with tanning salons to raise their kids, so they'd just bring them in to gamestop to buy games to raise them instead, or drop them off at out damn store while they went to the nearby town square/mall.

Every kid in that fucking town is just like this bastard. I went crazy after about a month.

I feel your pain, Rocketblender. I used to work in Southlake on some podunk newspaper that basically served as the local "hey, we've got a paper, we're important now, buy some of our stuff" advertisement thing.

And yes, the kids are effin' insufferable.

The worst ones were the moms going to Central Market that would drop their kids off. I still remember the Halo Reach launch as well. There were not only parents there buying the games for their kids, but letting them skip school over it as well. Goddamn...

And I think the name of the paper was the Southlake Times. It got bought up by Star Newspapers years ago, though, so it's probably been renamed or just shut down in the meantime.

Southlake, however, remains douchey as ever.

Probably from the very same system he uses to spew his assholery back to the world.

I still think the internet has way more pros than cons, but the cons are pretty painful to watch.
