this ain't exactly a controversial position

Xenocide - 2011-07-28

Meanwhile, on Bizzaro World, Congress accomplishes things and Americans have jobs. Also, their bubbles are SQUARE.

Toenails - 2011-07-28

Tea Party refuses to believe President Bizzarobama (the nation's first "white" president, even though he's only half white) is legitimately a citizen of the United States until they are shown his long-form Death Certificate.

Meanwhile, a national health-epidemic is plaguing the country as kids are playing outside, eating healthy, and losing weight.

cognitivedissonance - 2011-07-28

FORGIVE HIM NOT, MOTHER, FOR THEY KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THEY'RE DOING!

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-07-28

In retrospect, maybe appealing to angry, stupid lunatics for votes wasn't the best course of action.

Live and learn.

Well, live.

memedumpster - 2011-07-28

Where was John McCain before it got this bad? Oh, right, helping. Any act that allows his party to continue existing is automatically on the wrong side of history.

cognitivedissonance - 2011-07-28

Er, not exactly, this one man, THIS ONE MAN RIGHT HERE, is EXACTLY how we got into this mess.

Blame him. Blame him until your tongue bleeds and you can't blame no more.

Sephirock - 2011-07-28

Say what you want about John McCain, he is one of the few politicians left with any principals. I don't agree with him most of the time but sometimes he does stuff like this and reminds me why I wanted to vote for him in 2000. He would have made a better President than Bushey that's for sure.

godot - 2011-07-28

He once once a fiscally responsible Goldwater Republican (anti Bush tax cuts, pro Choice) Republican, which seems pretty sane in the current climate. He was replaced with a replica sometime in late 2001.

Sephirock - 2011-07-28

Yah, but sometimes he still does the right thing, like here. There are still a few Republicans left, like Snow, Collins, and Brown who stick by their beliefs. Hopefully we can get more sensible and independent politicians in 2012 to push back against the extremists on both sides of the aisle and compromise with Obama.

Toenails - 2011-07-28

I can say what I want about John McCain?

*Ahem*

John McCain's is an old irrelevant weepy vagina who previously tried to appeal to the same constitutes he's now befuddled by. He's principled in the sense he'll say what he needs to appeal to his far-right voters and then waffle when the pressure is on.

Also, he can't fly a plane to save his fucking life.

Pillager - 2011-07-28

Wasn't it Nixon who said it best, "To win as a Republican, go as as far to the right as you can during the primary & then return to the center before the elections."?

Sadly, the right wing zealots of the GOP ain't having it.

The amount of schadenfreude I'm feeling now is wonderful. I look forward to the tea baggers crashing & burning like Newt did back the 90's.

FABIO - 2011-07-28

I'm not so optimistic. Everyone was saying the same thing about the Republicans imploding in 2008 and then we got the 2010 elections with them screwing up progress more than ever.

memedumpster - 2011-07-28

He has no principles.

In 12 years the Democrats will be just like the Tea Party is now and the GOP will be openly endorsing genocide and cannibalism (with 50 million people agreeing). This is the best it will ever be compared to the future.

Pillager - 2011-07-28

Fabio, traditionally the opposition makes gains in Congress after the other side takes the White House. If anything, Obama can point to the crazies running the GOP & mock his way to another victory.

Boehner has a tea bagger rebellion to his right. Cantor is right behind him ready to pitch Boehner's leathery ass under the bus. Lunatics like Michele Bachmann are only going to make things more interesting. Sadly, that's the best they have...

Robin Kestrel - 2011-07-28

The thing is, the worse things get, the more the ignorant will look to someone that promises them a quick and easy fix, and gives them boogeymen to blame it all on.

I fear that a large number of non-wealthy Republicans will *never* clue to the fact they are voting for their own destruction.

MongoMcMichael - 2011-07-28

BIZARRO, I LOVE YOU, BIZARRO, I LOVE YOU.

jangbones - 2011-07-28

obscure reference, I like it

voodoo_pork - 2011-07-28

Nope, still hate him.

I personally blame his desperate, pathetic 2008 campaign for the current "crazy-fits-all" Republican mindset that currently exists.
