I'm probably a huge dork for saying this, but this shit has been posted on other websites and discussed before. The firemen involved are practicing for a sort of ritual competition and nobody on any firefighting force anywhere would expect anybody to behave anything like this in anything resembling a real situation. It is not a firefighter exam.
No it shouldn't, because #1 Firefighters should never train without the full gear, as moving with gear is a completely different story than moving without gear. #2 That is an extendable aluminum ladder, which is neither heat-proof nor electricity proof; a real scenario would usually involve a fiberglass ladder which is much much heavier and their maneuver would result in almost guaranteed back injuries with it.
