Dear England,
Please stop making the NRA look and sound sane.
- Thank you

FURY-161 - 2011-09-11 This is Scotland. Specifically, Glasgow.

I'm just thinking for the amount of time and energy it took to put the vicious hat wearing stick guy on TV, they either had no other material, or they want to do kind of an underhanded exposee on how fucking stupid the police are. Also if that picture of me taking a shit wearing a fez ever hits the internet, I'm glad I'm in the US.

England is a fucking cancer.

Xenocide - 2011-09-11 Gotta love the question the hostess poses at the end "WE WANT YOUR OPINION. NOT ON WHETHER OR NOT THE POLICE HAVE GONE TOO FAR SINCE OBVIOUSLY THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE, BUT ON WHAT IDEAS YOU HAVE TO HELP THEM GO EVEN FARTHER."

Ban guns they said.
Ha ha!

I'm dubious they actually do this, and it's not a scheme they tried. The point is that police everywhere monitor social networking.
It is absolutely insane though.

Xenocide - 2011-09-11
Well at least now I don't have to worry about anyone stabbing the internet.

I wonder what people do in the UK when someone breaks into their house?
|
cool water sandwich - 2011-09-11 Wikipedia states "the victim must lie motionlessly on the floor, only breathing the bare minimum whilst awaiting assistance. Robbers are easily startled and so you must not make eye contact or make sudden moves, and only speak in soft tones.
It is noted by our script that you are accessing this page from a UK IP address. Please lie motionlessly on the floor, pending our inquiry team."
Braver men have been known to use bad language, and meeker ones resort to sarcasm, but in the end if always leads to getting stabbed.

You know who else used a hatchet in a public space?

"Next on Sky TV, in the aftermath of the the riots, the question is being asked, why don't young people respect the law anymore? We talk to three experts who will put forward a variety of racist, classist and ageist arguments and debate weather beatings or tear gas is the solution going forward."
|
cool water sandwich - 2011-09-11 Rubber bullets and water cannons, and an advancing wall of polycarbonate shields.
Seriously, when the riots were occurring they had self declared experts explaining that water cannons work because nobody likes rain, do they? And they use them to cool the crowd at festivals, so they can't hurt.

England suddenly finds itself with angry short order cooks. Breakfast down 37%.

Let us know how you think we can keep people from thinking.

I didn't realize it is illegal to pose with a knife in your hand
|
|
cool water sandwich - 2011-09-12 Reading up, it's really confusing. A lot of people believe that any small, non-locking penknife is legal, but it sounds like any blade can be a problem if they decide it is.
Looks like my trusty penknife has to be replaced with a bottle opener.

(Paraphrased):"If they're holding knives at home, they might take them out into public."
Christ, guys. I would think you would be doing anything you can to avoid persecuting thought crime.

Wait till they discover the youth cricket league.

GravidWithHate - 2011-09-13 Nice public school boys who's parents know solicitors? I'm sure they'll get right on that.
