Hurp durp, I support protests and all, but they should only protest where the bank funded police allow them to, hurp durp.

Cena_mark - 2011-10-06

Right... Lets allow unruly mobs to go anywhere they like. Fuck public safety.

TeenerTot - 2011-10-06

Cena the libertarian.

baleen - 2011-10-06

Ah yes Cena, what was that great libertarian philosopher that said "Protests should be quashed with brute force?"

Have you ever actually read anything written by a libertarian?

charmlessman - 2011-10-06

I saw an interview with one of the women who was at the macing that became the first of these videos. She said that everything was fine and dandy until the white shirted cops showed up. They are the captains and sargents of the NYPD. Once they showed up, they started beating and macing indiscriminately. Based on what I just saw here, it looks like she's right. Pretty pathetic, really.

Jet Bin Fever - 2011-10-06

This is an incredible video. I'm glad he kept rolling after getting a baton to the gut.

Riskbreaker - 2011-10-06

Way to keep stereotypes alive and well, asshole cops.

kingofthenothing - 2011-10-06

IT'S ALL OVER, LAWBREAKER! SHOULD HAVE PAID THE FINE! WHY... WON'T... YOU... DIE? YOU ELVES ARE ALL THE SAME. ALL FLASH AND NO FURY.

oddeye - 2011-10-06

This is the part where you fall down... AND BLEED TO DEATH!

Riskbreaker - 2011-10-06

YOU BETRAY THE LOAAAWWWW!

FreeOJ - 2011-10-06

This happens with every major protest and people are always so surprised when it happens.

Cena_mark - 2011-10-06

Exactly. That's why the protesters need to knock off this conspiracy nonsense. The bankers don't fear your protest.

misterbuns - 2011-10-06

Yeah, remember all the police brutality at Glenn Beck's event?

Merciless.

wackyakmed - 2011-10-06

I'm not surprised - I lived in Pittsburgh during the G20, which was much worse than this. Amy Goodman has an article up today about worse treatment at the 2008 RNC convention. When the state decides that this is the first and best solution to nonviolent dissent, it's just another sign of how fucked things are.

wackyakmed - 2011-10-06

Also, pay attention to what type of protests the violence is directed against. The G20, 2008 RNC, Occupy Wall Street protests are all at heart a critique of the corrupt economic status quo, and the sclerotic political process that keeps it in place. They were met with overwhelming force.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2011-10-06

When I grow up I want to be a cop so that I too can know the joy of beating hippies.

SolRo - 2011-10-06

watch that 3dge there broseph

fedex - 2011-10-06

did you actually just attempt to reprimand him in leet-speak for being too edgy and wanting to beat up hippies?

misterbuns - 2011-10-06

1/10

Ursa_minor - 2011-10-06

Also, "hippies"? How fucking old are you?

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2011-10-06

@Ursa: Welcome to the "South Park" effect. If Cartman says it, (mostly) conservatives take it up as part of their vernacular. The same thing happened when he started using "commie."

Void 71 - 2011-10-06

Punch bored white kid faces?

Abstract Fainter - 2011-10-06

Haha. SUGAH thinks he'll be employed.

simon666 - 2011-10-06

The left newspapers might whine a bit
But the guys at the station they dont give a shit
Dispatch calls are you doin something wicked?
No siree, jack, were just givin tickets

From Dead Kennedys "Police Truck"

Jet Bin Fever - 2011-10-06

Yes!

spikestoyiu - 2011-10-06

Dude has the worst swing.

Void 71 - 2011-10-06

I wonder how many bankers were watching this from their balconies, half drunk on 0 a bottle champagne.

CornOnTheCabre - 2011-10-06

here's a thought: imagine how many Wall Street lawyers have rubbed one out to shit like this by now.

Void 71 - 2011-10-06

Check out this article on the subject. It was written before Occupy Wall Street.

Simillion - 2011-10-06

At 1:20, a nerd wearing a hood, possibly calling himself "Altair" in his head, leaps at the cameraman from right behind a cop, crossing straight through their little zone of control. This was by far my favorite part.

memedumpster - 2011-10-07

New York's finest, and a bunch of fucking pigs.

Fezren - 2011-10-07

Logical reasons why police would set up a barricade in front of the NYSE:

1) To prevent unlawful vandalization to public or private property.
2) To prevent unlawful assault to occupants of NYSE.

Logical reasons why a mob of protesters would attempt to cross a police boundary:

1) Ignorance pertaining to the 1st amendment.
2) a. To purposefully provoke police and;
b. Submit a youtube video of the resulting violence.

Logical reasons why Occupy Wallstreet protesters would clash with police, diverting attention from their actual message:

???

Looks to me like these cops are doing a good job. What are they supposed to do? Let an unruly, uncontrolled mob of protesters within arm's reach of the building that the mob is protesting? These people aren't marching past the NYSE, they look like they're diving straight in to the police. I don't see anyone marching past the NYSE, it looks like the mob was trying to surround the building.

Maybe I could get down with a legitimate protest, that was actually organized and controlled by people who understand the law, but how do you expect to get anything done with such an unorganized mob of idiots who can't even manage to stage a proper legal protest and cooperate with the police.

Start the countdown until riots and then nothing happens.

memedumpster - 2011-10-07

Logical reason why the police would clash with protesters, diverting attention from their actual message.

Because you wont help them and they know it.
