When you consider that child abuse among the Children of God was not only widespread but actually promoted by the church literature and that Berg's own daughters and granddaughters have accused him of sexual abuse and that his Grandson attempted to murder his own Grandma as revenge for the sexual abuse received as a child (he ended up killing one of his baby-sitters and commited suicide), "do it cause Daddy said so" takes on a whole new meaning.
Oh, fuckity-fuck-fuck you aren't kidding. I just looked up this whack-job on Wikipedia. The entry kept getting worse and worse and then saved the best for last:
"Berg also informally adopted Ricky Rodriguez, the son of his second wife Karen Zerby (who continues to be a leader of the Children of God). In the 1970s and 1980s sexually suggestive photographic depictions of Rodriguez (aka "Davidito") with adult caretakers were disseminated throughout the group by Berg and Zerby in a child rearing handbook known as "The Story of Davidito".[9] In January 2005, Ricky Rodriguez murdered one of the female caretakers (also shown in the handbook) before taking his own life several hours later."
