I loved this as a kid, repeat animation and all. In retrospect, it's kind of amazing that they did an animated cartoon that involved WWII, complete with Swastikas.

If they ever decide they MUST do another Flash Gordon movie, they should use this as a model (that is, set it in the early 20th century).

Repeat animation or no, it's obvious they gave a damn about this one. I recall thinking it was a cut above, and I'm pleased to see I remember correctly.

The only animated version I've ever seen was the utterly bland 90s Flash Gordon where he was a teenager with 'tude or something.

Lou Scheimer and his weird running cycles that conform to no actual pattern in the real world (probably recycled from Hardy Boys in this instance). 5 stars!
