Oh NO there's citric acid in my organics!!!!
Most of that list around 1:00 makes him look like a fucking dickhead.

Oscar Wildcat - 2012-05-21

I'm pretty sure if you cut all the acorbic acid out of your diet, you'd die of scurvy. Also, silicon dioxide! OMG!

A lot of what he is saying is eco-paranoiac puritanism, true, but a lot of it isn't.

No, it's all fucking retarded. Organic is bullshit.

Look at those tiny little dogs that people carry in their purses. They love kids. We bred those from wolves. Those things fucking eat children. Dogs are almost unrecognizable as the descendents of wolves.

Every plant that you eat has gone through the same process of domestication. They are just as changed as dogs are. We get this bullshit idea in our heads that nature is benevolent and safe. It's fucking violent and unfriendly, and that applies to plants as much as it does animals. Look at wild bananas. Those fuckers have thick skin that you'd probably need some sort of cutting tool to open. They're almost all seeds inside. What little flesh there is in the fruit is actually inedible unless cooked. And that's one of the plants we decided was worth domesticating! Many plants are poisonous, and even the safe plants you eat every day have trace amounts of things like arsenic and chlorine.

As far as artificial stuff, well, everything comes from one of two places. We mine it, or we farm it. Then we do stuff to it. The more stuff we do to it, the better. Why? Because doing stuff costs money! If it were better to do less stuff, we'd do less stuff.

Don't get me wrong, there are real issues. Better can mean "better for the environment", it can mean "better for the consumer" or it can mean "better for the penny pinching CEO that doesn't care about the environment or the health of his customers". But those issues are separate from the question of how many steps were involved in making the product. It's often the case that "organic" is in fact better for health or the environment, but I'd wager it's more often worse.

"Organic" means using a larger amount of a carcinogenic pesticide because the more effective and safe pesticide is newer and uses more technology. That's fucking dumb.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-05-22

blue put a lot of work into that. I'm not sure any of it was worth it.

Oscar Wildcat - 2012-05-22

One thousand words without a punchline.

I'm not a betting man, but I'd wager Blue subsists on a diet of pop tarts, protein shakes, and frozen pizzas with energy drink. AMIRITE BRO?

Chemicals are magically bad if people make them, and magically good if some other organism just kinda craps them out.

Same with evolution, it doesn't count if people do the culling instead of some other predator, because we do it efficiently enough that you can watch the species evolve and that takes all the mystery out of it.
