Get it? Cause we're still in a recession!!! LOLOLOLOL

Dread Pirate Roberts - 2012-08-19

Leno has never been funny. I just wish his audience would do this more often.

DriverStabby - 2013-02-01

I'm amazed to learn he doesn't use a laugh track.

MacGyver Style Bomb - 2012-08-19

The fact that he didn't do the decent thing and retire after the prime time failure is living proof that we live in an uncaring world without justice.

ADnova - 2012-08-19

"Did the mic off?"

Yes Jay. The mic offed.

Or maybe you just flubbed an already shitty non-joke? I had to listen to it 5 times before realizing he said "clueless", and not "coolest" or "cruelest".

BillLumbergh - 2012-08-19

most coolest?

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2012-08-19

Why won't this guy just give it up already? The world will forever remember you as the guy who pulled a total dick move and went on telling terrible jokes.

Kabbage - 2012-08-19

Who the fuck makes a fucking Casey Anthony joke? Much less rolls one into a vague jab at the Obama administration?

I hope somebody got drugged, wrapped in a blanket, and left helpless in the woods to starve to death for this.

The Mothership - 2012-08-19

Jay Leno.

Binro the Heretic - 2012-08-19

That...he actually SAID that? Out loud and everything?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-08-19

Whoa. That's some Wile E. Coyote type bombing right there.

fedex - 2012-08-19

Spaceman Africa - 2012-08-19

I heard one laugh

Rudy - 2012-08-20

Probably the writer.

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-08-19

Tell a joke about all the bridges you stupidly burned to get to where you are today, I'll bet your audience will laugh at that.

baleen - 2012-08-20

The poor man had to take a M pay cut (now a paltry m yearly) to keep his show on the air, give him a break.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-08-19

The unfunny emperor has no unfunny clothes.

Seven Arts/H8 Red - 2012-08-19

Since it's Jay Leno, he'll use that Casey Anthony reference for ten more years.

I'm surprised he didn't break out a Gary Condit joke, while he was at it.

Grandmaster Funk - 2012-08-19

Much of comedy is about plausibility, and only the most delusional of right-wingers could convince themselves it's sufficiently plausible that Jay Leno knows anything at all about economics such that this "joke" could be judged funny.

Grandmaster Funk - 2012-08-19

Also his nervous lisp at the end is GOLDEN!!

Ursa_minor - 2012-08-19

This is amazing.

eatenmyeyes - 2012-08-19

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-08-19

Gosh, Jay usually kills with this kind of joke... JUST LIKE CASEY ANTHONY! LOL!!

Coming up next, Jay reads wacky small town obituaries

Nikon - 2012-08-19

Wait, this guy still can find work? I thought he created the anti-humor singularity.

StanleyPain - 2012-08-19

Oh whatever audience. Yeah ACT like you have some semblance of standards or a sense of humor. "Oh, this joke offends me, but hey I got tickets to see Jay fucking Leno."

This is like being disappointed you went to see Larry the Cable Guy, and he all he told were fart and queer jokes.

SolRo - 2012-08-19

Hey man, you don't know why all the audience members are there. Maybe a large portion of them were hoping they would get a chance to punch leno before, after or during the show.

Grandmaster Funk - 2012-08-20

***** ^

dairyqueenlatifah - 2012-08-19

Jay Leno tells an unfunny joke + Audience doesn't laugh at it = Funny.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-08-20

Comparing child murder to politics is always good comedy material, Jay.

BHWW - 2012-08-20

And what about that Congress? Huh?

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-08-22

The audience all went deaf, but it was by choice, rather than listen to his shit for one more minute.

joelkazoo - 2012-08-20

Even if you take the whole Conan fiasco off the table, Jay Leno has always sucked. Fuck him.

Wonko the Sane - 2013-03-01

Making Leno look stupid in front of his on audience is doing Gods work. I hope the writer of this joke got laid.

oddeye - 2014-04-06

He did... laid off that is!!

oddeye - 2014-04-06

I am three orders of magnitude funnier than this guy (even with his team of writers) yet I get paid three orders of magnitude less.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-08-03

Does anybody remember Johnny Carson? His approach to the monolgues was a wonderful thing, at least as I remember it.

Carson would start off, and the jokes would mostly be terrible, but the fun would be watching him bomb. He'd squirm, sigh forlornly, adjust his collar, and adlib, about how that last joke didn't go over very well. It was funny in a real human way that the written jokes couldn't touch. By the end, the audience would really want Carson to land on, and, typically, the last joke would be really solid, and the audience would just go crazy, laughing-- clapping, and cheering.

Letterman was also good at turning unfunny into funny. One of my favorite moments from all of those years of Letterman came during Late Night, when everything was just falling really flat. Coming back after a commercial break, Letterman announced: "We've just heard from the control room... and tonight's show... isn't sticking to the tape."
