He was funny in his X Files cameo, too. Pretty much everything from High Fidelity onward is unbearable, but he was OK before he got too much attention.

Bort - 2015-04-02 Jack Black was the best thing about "King Kong". Then again, I didn't much care for it except for the first third of the movie, all the stuff before they got to the island. But all the talky stuff and character bits ... gold.

When kids used to tell this joke on the playground back in 5th grade, the punchline was always that the third hole was the best, but when he asked the farmer about it the next morning he found out that it was a goat or a cow or something, depending on who told it.
I grew up in New England, maybe our version was closer to its preindustrial, European roots or something.
