Hooker - 2012-09-24
Dear America,
It is funny and horrifying and absolutely astounding to watch you treat the occupation of education with such outright contempt. More than terrorism, or debt, or a return to the gilded age, your willful trampling of education is the thing that will be your downfall. As a Canadian, this thing you're doing is going to suck badly for me as well, but hot damn will it be entertaining.

StanleyPain - 2012-09-24 Oh, and also be sure to read up on Romey's visit to Univision, in which he demanded that the LIVE intro to the show be re-recorded because they made reference to the fact that Obama was giving them an hour instead of Romney's half-hour and how his campaign bussed in supporters to cheer for him despite the studio being told not to make any noise, which is why the audience, which you'd assume to be Latinos, mysteriously cheered on the illegal aliens reference.

Hooker - 2012-09-24 School teachers aren't even that. Most people (I think?) have graduated high school, and those that haven't are either under 18 or free to do so at their leisure. School teachers are hardly the intellectual elite.

M-DEEM - 2012-09-24 Dear Canada,
No it isn't and no it won't.
America

Hooker - 2012-09-25 S. Down from M. Deem!

Chocolate Jesus - 2012-09-24
As much as I hate Romney, this really is a limp-wristed indictment .
|
StanleyPain - 2012-09-24 But it's still somewhat newsworthy and voting it down in the hopper is a dipshit, petty thing to do. Oh, but then I forgot...you're here to teach us all what videos are SUPPOSED to be on here. Nevermind, carry on!
|
Chocolate Jesus - 2012-09-24 Its a nothing video, if this were somehow injurious to Romney I would have voted it up out of sheer bile.
An extra star for bringing up Romney's padding of the Univision forum.
|
Maru - 2012-09-24 I can't even begin to imagine how voting something down in the hopper is a "dipshit thing to do" as opposed to the way you're just supposed to use the site.

takewithfood - 2012-09-24 That's a whole lot of stars for a single anecdote.

Chocolate Jesus - 2012-09-24
I'm not saying its good for Romney because it isn't bad for Romney. I'm a pro-labor democrat.
I'm saying this woman has a flimsy appraisal based on nothing except the claim that Romney ignored her at an event. Her critique is a broad, meaningless extrapolation that doesn't amount to an effective attack or an interesting video.
|
Konversekid - 2012-09-24 He honestly gave the response that any socially inept person would give to someone spontaneously telling them "I have an answer"
I can imagine it in a million different situations where autistic children shut down their classmates with that response:
"I didn't ask you a question"
|
Hodge - 2012-09-24 Well said.
|
John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-09-24 John Holmes Motherfucker
Well, I think that's the point. Leading people is a social skill. Socially inept people are not good leaders. He could be a great guy but the fact that he keeps coming off as a dick would make him an ineffectual president.
|
Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-09-24
That'll show those 47% of the country assholes who think education is free.
|
John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-09-24 You know, it seems pretty limp-wristed in the ad, with the shitty chick-flick music, but as an anecdote, it resonates. Hours later, I keep picturing it. What gets me is that Romney thinks he's sitting at the head of the roundtable. Clearly, the dick doesn't know why they call it a roundtable.
I see this as a multimillionaiire who is not interested in advice from someone who earns what? Sixty thousand a year?
|
Chocolate Jesus - 2012-09-24 I'm with you John, I think Romney is an out of touch classist too. This video is just the least egregious example I've seen of his behavior, I don't think it will carry much weight with voters.

Nyms Lives! - 2012-09-25
"I did not become a teacher to be wealthy or powerful"
Well that at least shows why Romney holds her in such contempt.
