What a shock.

"Christians are not afraid to teach their children about evolution"
Argh, what a scraggly bearded piece of filth.

IrishWhiskey - 2012-09-30

Bill Nye doesn't understand what science is. Here's my completely wrong definition of "observational" and "historical" science that claims everything that happened in the past in unconformable.

Bill Nye isn't a scientist. He's a mechanical engineer. I know I just included that as part of science, but ignore my inconsistencies.

Bill Nye is the one abusing children by telling them things which are different from what I think. Creationists teach children they are special, as in they were specially created to hate others and fear knowledge all their lives in hopes of appeasing an abusive god who would send them to eternal torture.

Bill Nye and secular scientists are all about indoctrination, not teaching kids to think critically, not letting them be exposed to other points of view and... oh dear, my brain appears to be attempting to escape my skull again.

IrishWhiskey - 2012-09-30

The 'humanists teach kids not to think critically' part is the most galling. Because that's Ham's whole MO.

Bill Nye teaching kids to ask teachers and scientists "How do you know?" Because that leads to knowledge.

Ken Ham teaches kids (as his catchphrase) to ask instead "Where you there?" Because he knows the teachers weren't there themselves for past events or big discoveries. It's phrased as an interrogatory but it's not, because the person asking already knows. It's not a question that leads to learning, it's a tactic for dismissing everything someone tells you.

Cena_mark - 2012-09-30

You're telling me Jesus rose from the dead? Were you there?

That guy - 2012-10-04

Irish, what about the rhetorical parlor trick where he asks if you'd want to fly on a plane that was made by random? There are so many things wrong with that move that it's hard to choose where to attack it first.

Ocyrus - 2012-09-30

Why do these people hate the freedoms that they think their god gave us?

SolRo - 2012-09-30

you have it wrong, god gave -them- the freedoms, the rest of have no rights until we convert.

Blue - 2012-09-30

If you think that evolution is a random process, you don't actually have the three sentence cliffs notes understanding of evolution.

IrishWhiskey - 2012-09-30

I've never to this day heard or read someone criticize evolution while being able to give an accurate definition of it.

It's as if half of Americans didn't believe in gravity because "sometimes things go up, like planes and balloons. So gravity, which says all things go down, can't exist!"

Toenails - 2012-09-30

Gravity already flies in the face of people who believe in the Rapture.

"Gravity is just a Theory! Why don't they teach the controversy: that everyone is being personally held down by our lord and savior Jesus Christ?"

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-09-30

It's fun to point out that the modern concept of "The Rapture" didn't exist until about 200 years ago, and that their well-worn description of it and the events involved are in no way, shape, or form contained in their book of fairy tales.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2012-09-30

I know you guys are joking and all, but I grew up with foster parents who would, serious as a hard attack, tell you "Believing in gravity takes more faith than believing in God does, and we don't believe in it because there's no proof, and God didn't intend for us to study it anyway. Also, NASA is evil because they study the stars, which the Bible clearly condemns".

Yes, there are people who seriously believe gravity is a myth conjured up by Satan.

SixDigitDebt - 2012-09-30

Everything about this makes me feel bile rising in my throat. While I can picture incidental stupidity, I still have a hard time comprehending practiced and intentional stupidity.

Hooker - 2012-09-30

I'm glad I don't get angry at this kind of stupidity any more.

dead_cat - 2012-09-30

I wish I knew your trick for that.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2012-09-30

Yeah please share your technique.

memedumpster - 2012-09-30

No joke, how the hell do you do that?

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-09-30

By turning your anger into smirking contempt.

Adham Nu'man - 2012-09-30

It's easy, Just let Jesus Christ into your heart.

Hooker - 2012-10-01

I've heard this too much to care any more.

pastorofmuppets - 2014-02-10

Perhaps you don't live in a country where half the voters believe it.

cognitivedissonance - 2012-09-30

Don't you have to think humans are the measure of the cosmos to be a humanist? Or did I misread some literature somewhere?

Spaceman Africa - 2012-09-30

"I hope he did not apply his evolutionary principles to any of Boeing's airplanes. 'Cause if he did I wouldn't want to be flying in them."

Oh shit I hope no one tells him how planes are designed.

dead_cat - 2012-09-30

He flies only on the Wright Brother's very first airplane design, dammit, LIKE GOD INTENDED!

That's why he's stuck in Australia.

I wish it were possible to laugh hard enough at people who think humanism is their enemy.

Pirateking86 - 2012-10-02

I just flagged it as child abuse on youtube.
