But gains one back for making me laugh at "gay bane"

The "explosion wipes out the entire alien force" plot device is even more fun when you realize it renders every Avenger but Iron Man redundant.

I bet Downey had that written into his contract. I would.

-1 star because like 1/4th of this video was just them begging me to watch their other videos.

Really, the only things that bothered me were how Hulk was suddenly able to "control" himself without explanation and just how little Hulk we saw, period. (although his scene with Loki sort of made up for it)

And I couldn't remember the purple dude's name in the credits, but I seem to recall he was kind of the Marvel analog to Darkseid or something?

I still loved the Hell out of the movie, though.

I hear Whedon is working on a S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series.

The movie had potential, but had too many things dragging it down.

- Loki was a lame villain choice, first comic be damned. Why cast Loki if he's not going to do any manipulative shit? Generic aliens that made Independence Day's look nuanced? The fight between Iron Man and Thor was more interesting to watch than anything to do with the end.

- Samuel Jackson is a terrible choice for anything where he doesn't lose his shit. It really was Mace Windu II.

- Scarlett Johansson, and her amazing power of pistols.

- After half a dozen origin story movies just to set this one up, they made most of it another origin story. Hanging out on and repairing an aircraft carrier indeed.
