South Park wants to make sure that everyone understands the comment they're making on every joke.
WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2012-10-06
Honey Boo Boo is infinitely more novel and insightful than South Park at this point. Also I'd rather the TV people's money go to some impoverished family in Georgia than two dumb smug libertarians who have never had to work a day in their life because their college animation project went viral.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2012-10-06 "Impoversed"
Yeah, a reality tv family of fatasses who puts the littlest in beauty pageants regularly. Man they got it rough.
FABIO - 2012-10-06 South Park detractors are more banal and predictable than South Park at this point.
We get it. They're libertarians. Everyone who loves pointing it out can shut up now.

Cena_mark - 2012-10-06 Oh... And I'll bet Honey Boo Boo's parents are totally going to vote for Obama... NOT!
Walker - 2012-10-06 I could care less about Trey & Matt's political leanings. Fuck them for making their show so formulaic and shooting the biggest fish in their tiny pop-culture/current-events barrel.
Cena_mark - 2012-10-06 They've been going on for 16 seasons. It was still good longer than the Simpsons.
Xenocide - 2012-10-06 True, but South Park at its best was never anywhere near as good as The Simpsons at its best.
SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-10-07 For those trying to compare the shows, South Park's seasons mostly consisted of 14 shows, with one season maxing at 18. The Simpsons' only 13-episode season was its first, the rest being 21 or more, with four seasons having 25 shows.
As for the difficulty of animation, South Park is about as complicated to animate as your average Newgrounds feature. Yes, it takes work, but the turnaround is under two weeks (which is how they could have Phil Collins with an Oscar up his ass when he beat them for best song 2 weeks after the award was given).
dairyqueenlatifah - 2012-10-06
They didn't even need to make any jokes.
twinkieafternoon - 2012-10-06
I thought this episode and the football episode were the best ones they've done in a while.
James Cameron bits not withstanding.
simon666 - 2012-10-06
So I didn't know who Honey Boo Boo was and just watched a video on YT to get acquainted.
Is it just me or is Honey Boo Boo is the product of 6 years of television. She's the perfect pantomime of all the stereotypes on TV.
themilkshark - 2012-10-06
South Park is one of the best shows on TV, but I don't give a shit when horrible TV shows are lampooned on it. I watch South Park BECAUSE I don't watch Honey Boo Boo, Jersey Shore, Real Housewives or any other docu-drivel that showcases uninteresting people and how they choose to self-destruct.

Gmork - 2012-10-07 this.
more cartman living the libertarian dream and ultimately destroying himself, please

spikestoyiu - 2012-10-06
Terrible.

Spaceman Africa - 2012-10-06
Yawn

Gallez - 2012-10-06
Is the plot of this episode that Cartman has to impersonate Honey Boo Boo for some reason? Possibly because he has an argument/bet with Stan and Kyle about her chances of winning a pageant (Cartman is in favor of her winning because 'fat people's time has come', or something) and she has a heart attack right before it's time for her BIG MUSICAL NUMBER?
il fiore bel - 2012-10-06
I wasn't so hot about the episode at first, but five stars for seeing Michelle Obama beat the shit out of childhood obesity.
Seven Arts/H8 Red - 2012-10-06
One-starring this not for South Park's current "look at this popular reality show, boy, we hate it" shtick, but for adding "Randy Newman, boy, he'll do a score for anyone" jokes later in the episode. I get it, South Park. You think "I'm Dreaming" sucks.
WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2012-10-06 South Park: just over a decade behind Family Guy's cutting-edge Randy Newman-based humor
PS: LIBERTARIANS!!1111one

Cena_mark - 2012-10-07 You sir are a bigot. When you have to mention something about a person that has nothing to do with what you're critiquing then you're a bigot. Its like saying, "I don't like that Mexican George Lopez, he isn't funny."
I had to deal with this crap when I was a libertarian. A girl once called me a "retard" on the spot when she asked what political affiliation I was with. No discussion no nothing. I told her I was libertarian and she started berating me.
Libertarians are a little bit zealous, but they're way better than most liberals and conservatives.
animegurl1000 - 2012-10-07 Comparing political orientation with race sounds like something a retarded libertarian would say, Cena.
SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-10-07 Given how many libertarians have been labeled as not True Libertarians(TM), I'm figuring the only True Libertarian(TM) needs to be born of the Invisible Hand of the Market yanking said entity out of a pile of Liberty Dollars by their own bootstraps.
Hay Belly - 2012-10-07 It's well known that Randy Newman is a giant asshole music notwithstanding.

EvilHomer - 2012-10-06
SOUTH PARK MAKES FUN OF EVERYONE. INCLUDING ME!!! >:(
ONE STAR!
dead_cat - 2012-10-07
No. There is no need to parody the Honey Boo Boo clan, as they are already extreme parodies of human beings. Attempting to parody them only made them less horrifying and amusing.
SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-10-07
They sure are bitter about other singer/songwriters.
They also have this odd habit of lampooning people for being smug, shrill, or douchey about whatever causes they might champion by... being smug, shrill, and douchey, pretty much.
SP can be funny, but it's becoming rarer and rarer. I think the level of what passes for shock humor has passed them by, and now all they've got is thinly-veiled political jabs and/or grasps at pop culture to carry the show.
klingerbgoode - 2012-10-07
Pretty lame
Caminante Nocturno - 2012-10-07
You're washed up, South Park. Even Family Guy can get more laughs than you can these days. You're a has-been.
Robin Kestrel - 2012-10-07
Wait, who am I supposed to hate, now? Am I doing this right?
Pillager - 2012-10-08
I've despised South Park for many years. Boring, predictable, & dull.
However, sometimes they're on the money. This is one of those times.
fatatty - 2012-10-10
I hate libertarians, but these are the funniest libertarians in the country.
