"Northern Exposure" chick is convinced her career tanked because the liberals are out to get her. How about: when they were casting for "Northern Exposure", she happened to be in the right place at the right time with the right look, which is more good fortune than 99% of the restaurant staff in LA can boast. But it takes a certain mindset of, shall we say, entitlement for her to feel she is owed more work ... sounds like she's calling for affirmative action.
By the way, conservatives, if you feel your politics aren't welcome in Hollywood, perhaps you should stop using "Hollywood" as code for everything un-American. You should also probably remember the blacklisting in the 1950s, spearheaded by the Republicans; I would bet a lot of people in Hollywood haven't forgotten.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-10-17 I don't see why they hate Hollywood so much, as it seems to embody everything they love: The fetishization of guns, objectification of women, market-driven economics (more than most industries), tax avoidance and accounting shenanigans, and so on.
I guess they really hate SAG and the other guilds/unions, but in L.A. it's not all that different from taking Grover Norquist's satanic pacts, registering GOP and paying thousands if not more a plate for fund-raising dinners.
