Louis Armstrong - 2012-12-10
To fight evil, one must make love to it.
Five stars for the ending. I wish they were reserved for the beginning, but there it is.

I non-ironically like that album. It's truly a time capsule of pop music from that year.

Also, I had no idea about the Boney M. connection, or that Bobby Farrell didn't sing their tunes. Amazing! Not that I'm a huge Boney M. nut, but I always just assumed Bobby Farrell sang without caring to check otherwise.

It sucks that these guys were used as scapegoats of the terrible habits of the music industry. These days almost every big radio hit has auto-tune, every concert of a popular "singer" playback, and nobody seems to give a shit.

badideasinaction - 2012-12-10 What they were doing was what every producer-led pop group was doing - having the session musicians sadly unable to make it to the video shoot or the live tour. The real thing that killed them was their cocaine gave them enough ego to believe their own hype and start trying to dictate terms to managers and the record company, so they hung them out to dry and made them the scapegoat so an entire industry could keep on doing the exact same thing they had always done.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2012-12-11 I don't feel any more sympathy for them than I do for Ashlee Simpson.
They got what they deserved.
