5 stars for the beleaguered old man in suspenders desperately failing to settle down the discourse.

He's just...so very tired...

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-01-11

This would only work to fire up the completely uneducated, so how could--?

Oh, right. It's Fox News.

Doomstein - 2013-01-11

THERE ARE LETTERS IN WITH THESE NUMBERS, STOP THIS MIXED-RACE SPELL WORD MATH AGENDA!!!! THERE'S NO NUMBER X OR Y IN OUR NUMBER ALPHABET, AT LEAST NOT IN THE AMERICA MY FOREFATHERS FOUGHT AND BLED FOR!!

lordyam - 2013-01-11

now wait just a gawddarn minute! help out my neighbor?! women getting paid the same as the men folk?! and now this alge-whatever-you-call-it, with ur fancy numbers and letters, this man must be stoped before he takes our guns away!!!

takewithfood - 2013-01-11

Indoctrination? In schools!? See, this is what happens when you kick God out of schools.

Hooker - 2013-01-11

The schools want to indoctrinate your children, which is bullshit, because YOU should be indoctrinating your children. Tell them the REAL reason America went to war with Iraq: to make America safer... wait, was it to make the world a better place? Or was it spread democracy? It was at least one of those reasons, anyway.

StanleyPain - 2013-01-11

I don't know how many of you are familiar with Conservapedia (I know we have some Andy Schlafly videos around here somewhere), but this is a BIG thing over there; the idea that certains kinds of math and physics are "liberal" or "deny god." It's pretty fun sometimes watching the meltdown on their talk pages about how relativity is not only 1.) fake, but also "liberal" because it encourages "relativism."

Hooker - 2013-01-11

Conservapedia is a website I always tumble into every six months or so and wind up spending an astonished three or four hours browsing around. I think it's the site that finally made me move past anger towards far-right lunatics and into pity.

EvilHomer - 2013-01-11

"It's pretty fun sometimes watching the meltdown on their talk pages about how relativity is not only 1.) fake, but also "liberal" because it encourages "relativism."

Correction, they read Howard Zinn AND Irigaray. Wonderful.

«Is e=mc2 a liberal equation? Perhaps it is. Let us make the hypothesis that it is insofar as it constrains the speed of light with other speeds that are less productive within society. What seems to me to indicate the possible liberal nature of the equation is not directly its uses by nuclear weapons, rather it is having subordinated what goes the fastest.»

StanleyPain - 2013-01-11

They also routinely discuss what WORDS are liberal and conservative in a manner that will convince you they are parodying themselves, but trust me, they are not.

EvilHomer - 2013-01-11

I haven't been on there in awhile, but I love how Schlafly always bitched about the communist-fascist-crapheads on Wikipedia, then basically ran his website as it's own unchallengeable God-King. Having your views censored by Wikipedia editors for "not producing sources", HORRORS! What happened to Free Speech?! (liberals killed it!!!) But banning vast swathes of Conservapedians for taking the Lord's Name in vain, eh, that's the price of freedom. You don't like it, move to France.

Old_Zircon - 2013-01-11

Wikipedia repeatedly deleted the Barbarian Brothers entry for lack of relevance, so fuck them.

EvilHomer - 2013-01-11

No argument from me there, Zircon. I've been fighting Wikipedia for years to restore their entries on my favorite softcore porn stars. WP:NN my ass!

We shall overcome.

Bootymarch - 2013-01-15

I had never visited Conservapedia.

I went to the main page, saw the abortion article, clicked.

First sentence: "Abortion is the induced termination of a pregnancy,[1] often causing fetal pain."

Burst out laughing, quit browser

EvilHomer - 2013-01-11

So in Obama's America, Republicans read Howard Zinn?

cognitivedissonance - 2013-01-11

German Mathematics

WallyTheWonderBadger - 2013-01-11

c(a+b) = ca + cb
they mention several times how insanely difficult this is

Potter - 2013-01-11

"math is hard"
"Kidneygawden"
"my third husband"
"math is hard"
"they get their antiperspirant from the health food store, that's how they live"

I can't imagine the eye-rolling related injuries that occur when these people show up at their kid's school

Potter - 2013-01-11

oh, and my stars!

mustard - 2013-01-11

The lady in pink has the mouth of a deep sea angler.

Meerkat - 2013-01-11

Her name is Linda.

memedumpster - 2013-01-11

Jesus, I am absolutely dog shit awful at math. I know NO math not required to program bullshit or drive my car, and even my dumbass recognizes it's the best things humans have done, period.

I can see why you'd have to start early on kids, though, derailing the institutionalized jargon for all the statistical estimation power evolution gave their brains to identify the utter shit you're full of.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2013-01-11

In the first half of the 20th century (you know, the family friendly era!) people had no problem learning these things, and were also encouraged to do math in their heads.

I blame lead.

Toenails - 2013-01-11

Man, not being able to fucking do a basic tenet of algebra is one thing, but then the blonde lady goes on about Thanksgiving and Cowboys and Indians and some other bullshit that doesn't have anything to do with anything.

My stars are for her.

Louis Armstrong - 2013-01-11

We live in reality. And the distributive property as applies to math means political agenda. Wow.

Sivak - 2013-01-12

When the Antichrist comes, he'll be wrapped in the American flag and holding a cross.

And thanks to his early efforts seen here, every single one of these people is going to be wearing the number of the beast and won't be able to recognize it.

Doomstein - 2013-01-12

It just needs to be explained in a more palatable way for Fox News viewers.

The ungrateful poor person distributing their income to the rich woman with a bag full of money.
