Changing the definition of masculinity? Dude, it's a cartoon show. Here's a question that isn't stupid: Is the internet breaking down assumptions about gender roles by allowing people with unexpected tastes to find each other and form communities?

And come on... "THE IDEA CHANNEL?

The tags are sort of... dumb. I don't see how being a fan of one cartoon show is better or worse than being a fan of anime or comic books or star wars or any of that stuff.

theSnake - 2013-01-27

I don't see the dif between this cartoon and any anime cartoon with magical girls. I dont watch either but its fucking weird that this is the cartoon that suddenly we're making fun of people for watching.

EvilHomer - 2013-01-27

PoE never made fun of anyone before bronies showed up.

Maru - 2013-01-27

Because everyone knows this pony bullshit. No one has ever heard of Lucky Miracle Mahou Shoujo DX, except the half-dozen nerds jerking off to it on the internet.

Caminante Nocturno - 2013-01-27

Hey asshole, Lucky Miracle Mahou Shoujo DX is one of the best anime to come out in the past 13 years.

Maru - 2013-01-27

I know that, but America doesn't.

Caminante Nocturno - 2013-01-28

Well, then I'm sorry I called you an asshole.

Everyone in America is an asshole except for the two of us.

memedumpster - 2013-01-28

So obviously anime embarrassment is already well represented here.

Caminante Nocturno - 2013-01-28

Look, Maru. There's one of the assholes I told you about. I'll bet they know jack shit about Lucky Miracle Mahou Shoujo DX, the fucking wanker.

BHWW - 2013-01-27

Thanks PBS. The whole channel is this doof "asking" "outrageous" questions like "Will the Internet replace the art gallery?" or "Is fanfiction art?" that are either supposed to make you go "hmmmm" or "RARRRRRRGH" but either wa it's all about the views, baby.

endlesschris - 2013-01-27

He honestly believes no amount of irony is involved in MLP fandom. Come. On.

Xenocide - 2013-01-28

Of course there's irony, but it's far more sincere than almost any other fandom I've come across.

This is both a good thing and a terrible thing.

Blue - 2013-01-27

For the record the definition of masculinity no longer includes being afraid to buy tampons for your girlfriend. Also being afraid of gay cooties is no longer masculine.

Old_Zircon - 2013-01-28

I don't know, I feel like that kind of stuff has become MORE widespread in the past decade or so.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2013-01-27

I just watched 5 minutes of this. Meh.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2013-01-27

That is, 5 minutes of MLP.

Cena_mark - 2013-01-28

That's what I thought at first.

Cena_mark - 2013-01-28

You actually made me think back to when I first started watching the program. I was introduced to the show by POETV. When I watched the first episodes I could only handle about 5 minutes at a time. I'd take a break and recover my manliness, but I was still intrigued and kept watching.

Kabbage - 2013-01-27

Aww, I like Idea Channel.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2013-01-27

I like that he quoted Anais Nin.

Old_Zircon - 2013-01-27

SPOILER:

They aren't.

Eroticus E - 2013-01-28

Phew. Now I don't have to watch the video.

Old_Zircon - 2013-01-28

It's not like I did.

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-01-28

I'm so goddamn tired of hearing about that irrelevant show and its stupid fans.

Cena_mark - 2013-01-28

You're irrelevant and stupid.

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-01-28

:-D

RocketBlender - 2013-01-28

Wow, this guy...

He's got another video where he declares Twitter to be the new form of English lit.

FABIO - 2013-01-29

Are Republicans changing the definition of tolerance?
