I saw another time where he was trolling Patrick Stewart's panel by pretending to be an over-obsessed nitpicky fan. Besides trolling, it was probably a subtle shot at/reminder to the audience to not be that guy. I'm guessing the "well, you're the only two people who care about this" was meant as that sort of thing as well. A very charming kick to the nuts to these two.
