Space ocean monsters on Europa with the guy from District 9? FUCK YEAH

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-05-25

It looks good, but it was much funnier in the novelization of 2010.

The Chinese wanted to get to the Monolith and the Discovery before the Leonov did, so they shot a much lighter spacecraft past them and landed on Europa to use the water as fuel for the return trip.

Whatever it was living in the ocean under the ice decided that the landed spacecraft was damn sexy and commenced to rape it to bits.

I never really liked that. The idea that a creature could be fine going from the pressure under a few dozen kilometers of ice and water up to the vacuum at the Europa surface alone is crazy. Then why would the leviathan react to human-visible wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation, as those would not be anything like what it would be encountering under the ice cap. Then how could something which is evolved for survival under such a significant ice cap handle the 540 rem/day from Jupiter's magnetosphere at the surface.

DAMN YOU ARTHUR C. CLARKE! GIVE ME MORE BELIEVABLE ALIEN/SPACESHIP RAPE SCENES!

Okay, movie trailer, you put forth a good show, I'll ignore the iffy bits at the end and give you a shot.

The Mothership - 2013-05-25

This might be good. I will try to get out and see this.
