While we're talking 9/11, any PoE NYC people know whether or not the hydraulic suspension on the subway cars is still branded "twin towers" or not? I noticed that back in 2002 and wondered if they were going to change it, but I don't go down there much anymore and never remember to check when I do.

I don't fucking know, man. I live in Tennessee. I'd appreciate it if you got off my back about this too.

Caminante Nocturno - 2013-05-24

Well, what do they call the subway's hydraulic suspensions in Tennessee?

Mother_Puncher - 2013-05-24

Ford F650 and a tow motor. Eat it, nerd.

So what was going on in this scene? I'm sure it was something decidedly un-9-11-like or they wouldn't have cut it off so abruptly.

This whole movie was an incomprehensible mess, but in this particular bit, the two parallel universes were beginning to merge together with a goofy pixel-dissolve effect.

(I only know this because I watched the movie last weekend DON'T JUDGE ME)

Old_Zircon - 2013-05-24

I would judge you if you DIDN'T know that. This is a mandatory movie.

Back in the 90s the drummer in my band and I were pretty in to this movie. He uncovered all sorts of compelling (but probably coincidental) links to 1960s avant garde art and cinema hidden in it.

The basic gist was that a lot of the "fungus" sets looked a lot like famous art installations done by someone whose name I forget in the 60s; he was also a regular collaborator with Dennis Hopper early in Hopper's career, and was the creative force behind some of the early Devo videos, which ties into all the Devo references in the movie.

I genuinely and unironically enjoyed this movie as a teenager. I wonder if I'd enjoy it now.

I kinda have a crush on John Leguizamo.

Blue - 2013-05-24

That was supposed to be a reply. Why does this never work for me?

Nikon - 2013-05-24

I think you'd ironically enjoy it now.

il fiore bel - 2013-05-24

I felt the same way about Street Fighter. Not so much now.

Only I can't justify it because none of the guys were actually cute.

Caminante Nocturno - 2013-05-24

Raul Julia was a handsome man.

il fiore bel - 2013-05-24

NO CAMINANTE

I REFUSE TO ACCEPT IT WAS HIS FINAL MOVIE, THEREFORE I AM PRETENDING HE WAS NEVER IN IT

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-05-25

God man, it is either that or Addams Family Values. You might as well just stick with Street Fighter.
