Oh man, I saw this once on TV as a kid. I don't think I really need to elaborate.

This looks like a horror film, but with the cast and soundtrack replaced by that from a comedy.

Reminds me of that old joke:

I bought my wife a toy poodle. She nearly killed it trying to put the batteries in.

I just watched that horrible dog getting shot by the police video. This helped, ever so slightly. But, somewhere in the back of my mind I kept thinking someone was going to whip out a glock and waste poor little CHOMPS. :(

My dad took me to this at 13, now it must be in my Dog movie top ten! That was my 'year of the Dog' when so much Dog stuff happened, and 6 months later Here's Boomer came out.

Some of the scenes in the trailer are different than the movie, especially when Brian removes Chomps' head, which is more intense in the actual movie.

Chomps seems like a sci-fi adventure comedy, like Benji meets the Bionic Man. You can see that especially in the way they have Chomps in slo-mo to show that he's running fast.

I think for a 1970s B-movie I think it was done well, and it sure was exciting to me when I saw it the first time!

Chomps blasting through walls and kicking down vans, head removal, the disco soundtrack by Hoyt Curtin, and that the last word in the whole movie is a swear word by Monster, the next door neighbor Dog, that's coolness!

If I ever get together with other Chomps fans, we'll celebrate Chomps Day, like in the movie.
