He wasn't found innocent. Just to clarify. I'd like to believe every sane person in that courtroom knew he wasn't.

Zimmerman support is all about this scenario: if you see a black teenage boy in the night, should you be scared of him? If your answer is "well of course", you're likely to be an avid Zimmerman supporter, because he took the "threat" seriously enough to do something about it. The fact that Trayvon presented no actual threat doesn't factor in, because even if Zimmerman guessed wrong this one time, he still had the right idea.

If on the other hand you aren't a racist piece of shit, the entire incident boils down to an armed man stalking a teenager for no reason and ultimately killing him, and that makes Zimmerman a rabid dog who needs to be put down.

And unless you're a broken human being, you don't buy the story that the savage ape-like Trayvon managed to elude Zimmerman but then came back to attack him like a feral proto-simian; it doesn't sound at all plausible, it just sounds like something a guy might say just so he could claim self-defense.

Also, you don't have to be a "zimmerman supporter" to point out that treyvon was not some innocent random kid. He had a history of theft and violence, addiction to the drug Lean whose long-term and short-term affects include increased aggression and mental instability.

Usually when someone's life is threatened, they will go to any lengths to defend it. Is zimmerman wrong for being in that position to begin with? A position he put himself and treyvon in by his own actions? No shit, sherlock. Of course he's wrong for that.

Just as martin made a bad decision by invoking death threats to a coward with a gun. A coward he already had complete physical dominance over.

We reject your major premise as false, based upon the strong inductive argument that race has played a major role in all levels of the justice system for over one hundred years. No, I'm saying you're wrong. He wasn't tried for 1st degree murder because the justice system is racist. It's not about how the trial ended, it started with the failure of the police to even investigate, which lead to an FBI investigation. Even they suspected the Florida system was being racist, they still do, and they are still investigating it.

There are gang violence units in every major metropolitan police department in the country. In my city, Chicago, there are anti-violence marches big enough for me to notice about monthly. Last year, when we had a particularly bad summer, it became national news and congressional Republicans were bringing it up to link it to Obama. I've heard black-on-black violence talked about on the radio news twice today. Not in specific reports, but being brought up in discussion (I listen to a lot of NPR). It's being addressed. Not well, at all, but it's hardly hush-hush.

I'm gonna call this argument double reverse racism. It's when the racist argues that everybody else is being racist by not addressing the real problems with black people, that only someone with pure vision unclouded with prejudice can see.

except you're completely missing the point. the point is, that sort of shit with guns is only possible in florida, because of the type of "stand your ground" laws there. normally, "stand your ground" laws apply on your own property. but in florida they apply everywhere you go, so you can behave in a way that zimmerman did and get out of it without prison time.
